”Who Remembers When The End Was Only Just Beginning?”, December 2020.

Reflecting on the current pandemic, only to realise things this time last year gave plenty of us something to gripe about too... How times seemed simpler then.

Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin (Part 2) The plan worked, up to a point. After following the course several times in a row, he found it necessary to go through just one course in a year, and then one every few years. But the virtue of order—“Let all your things have their places; let each part of your business have its time”—appears to have eluded his grasp. Franklin was not naturally inclined to keep his papers and other possessions organized, and he found the effort so vexing that he almost quit in frustration. This timetable was formulated before Franklin adopted a favorite habit of his later years—his daily “air bath.” At the time, baths in cold water were considered a tonic, but Franklin believed the cold was too much of a shock to the system. He wrote in a letter: I have found it much more agreeable to my constitution to bathe in another element, I mean cold air. With this view I rise early almost every morning, and sit in my chamber without any clothes whatever, half an hour or an hour, according to the season, either reading or writing. This practice is not in the least painful, but on the contrary, agreeable; and if I return to bed afterwards, before I dress myself, as sometimes happens, I make a supplement to my night’s rest, of one or two hours of the most pleasing sleep that can be imagined. Amoreena {March 2021}
1/4

I genuinely can't believe it's already March (I also can't believe it'll be a year since the pandemic really started). Yesterday also marked one year since I started journaling, which isn't an actual major thing, but still. How quickly time flies and how big of a difference a year can make. "And when it rains, the rain falls down Washing out the cattle town But she's quite safe up far away in her eiderdown And she dreams of crystal streams Of days gone by when we would lean Laughing, fit to burst, on each other."

Chameleon
1/2

"Chameleon, you're free again, my child." I think using song lyrics may be slightly cheating...but it is quoted text... I feel like I haven't made a 'purposeful' piece in a bit, so this drawing felt even better to make. There have been multiple ups and downs lately. Frustration, self-hate, and anxiety can take many forms, and eventually I lose sight of what they started as. I heard this song for the first time a few months ago and it's really been stuck in my head recently for various reasons. I don't know, sometimes music provides an escape that even art can't.

Valentines day drawings

I uploaded one with Sidney a week ago but made a few adjustments.The two lads aren't having the best of luck with their crushes especially Servino since he Morrison threatens him frequently and with Mevlon being labeled another nobody by Adely herself.would they happily persist or become hopeless and alone?I could have put more effort in drawing the text bubbles at least :[ I had a cramp on my hand,ow!

Star Trek Spacedock

Felt inspired by this week's drawing prompt. Went with a Star Trek scene. Earth Spacedock from the movies always leaves me in awe. Tried to show it with its doors opening so you could see there is an inside. The starship's scale and perspective are off, but that is meh.

Rocks

Rocks from Rooster's Wife by Russell Edson. Two old men were performing autopsies on each other.And as they worked, putting this in a glass jar and that in a chamber pot, they talked of rocks; arthritic rocks, and rockswith rotten teeth; rocks with gout, and rocks with bad stomachs; rocks with hair in their ears, and rocks withscrotums hanging to their knees; rocks with gall stones, and rocks blind with cataracts. Suddenly one of the old men says to the other, Did you know you were pregnant?No, says the other old man.Then holding up a rock, he says, Look what I found in your womb.Spank it, says the other old man, And see if it cries…
