Just a quick doodle depicting the ache that I've experienced for as long as I can remember, but couldn't put a name to it until I was a number of years into my adult life.
A quirky pen & ink piece . . . This one was super fun to draw! The situation being depicted continually brought me smiles as I was working on it . . . and I have my sister and the Lord to thank for the inspiration. ❤️

Most recent challenge from my son: recreate the scene in Batman 497 where Bane breaks Batman's back. I revised it to depict Darkseid breaking his Marvel Comics rip-off, Thanos.
"No matter how life gets you down, don't forget to smile." Approx. 5" x 5.5". Watercolor and ink. Depicted is my version the Joker, driven mad by solitude. Alone with his thoughts, he envisions things claimed to be impossible and understands that the spark of a thought is what makes things truly real. It is in this, he finds comfort and a reason to keep smiling.
Eve is a continuation on my series of portraits. This piece represents my maturing technique and style as I begin to experiment with creamy consistencies. The painting displayed my ability to capture facial expressions.
My trip to Paris, France influenced my painting style. I was struck by the realism and drama depicted in various compositions, but also the lack of diversity. This piece is named "Eve" questioning whether the holy subjects depicted in European art were, in fact, part of a different race altogether.
Just a page trying to depict the rainforest and road. I got lost in trying to draw the vegetation. I felt frustrated about this drawing at the time, but now I like it.
The moment of death of a Christian as they leave this earthly world and travel to the afterlife. The figure is halfway between the earthly and heavenly realms. The earthly realm I painted in flat paints. The heavenly realm is bright and glorious. God is depicted in trinity, you see Father, Son and Holy Spirit as one.
I have given my students the problem of creating 100 self portraits in 20 days on 5x7 in paper. The challenge is to create something other than an image that depicts a 'dead-pan' stare. When the brain is given a problem, it goes to work immediartely to solve that problem. I have seen some wonderful solutions. This is a tall order for teens who are sensative to judgment and still developing in thier perception. It has generated wonderful discussions of self-awareness, world view, and judgment. Those who engage in the exercise in an authentic manner have only good things to say about the experience. It is not an exercise for everyone. We are on a journey. Be Bold! Be Honest! Hey Boos! Yes, it is true, I am a sans au fan. FOr the record I don't ship them (I ship cream ((cross and dream)) and I don't ship epic with anyone) these guys are soooo silly and they are besties (yes there are spaces missing because lasso tool and I was too lazy to fill them in)
I tried to depict a glowing rainbow bottle, but the glow looks more like that of an incandescent bulb. Yeah, the missing set of blue markers didn't help either. I'd really love to hear any suggestions

It depicts a friendly alien species who, having travelled light years across space, shared the fruits of their knowledge with us, and assimilated into human life as best they could, is still confronted with one of those age-old questions of ignorance.
