Painted as my final project for my Painting Environments course. I was super nervous about tackling this one, but learned a ton taking this course. I'm happy to move on to the next one. :-) Ironwood Forest Project parameters: - Forest full of massive trees - Implied path - River rambling through tree roots - Waterfall

The best way to start the morning.

This is my first full landscape project that I painted for a skillshare course. It was frustrating at times but I really enjoyed working through the multiple steps of this painting. I wanted to see what I could do it I pushed myself and I am happy with the final painting. I need to focus some more study on trees in the future, I like how the foreground tree came out, the forest edge was much more difficult. Spent some time camping this summer. A few of the sketches I made.

I let the chickens and the roosters out to have their daily walk. I need to keep an eye on them, there might be foxes around. The raspberries had ripened, and needed to be collected before they rotted on the branch. The stork flew by, and sat on the roof of the abandoned house nearby. The storks live next-doors, quite lovely neighbors. He was watching the chickens with me.

French toast has many many names. Pain perdu (lost bread) is one of my favorites.

This was my submission for the Doodle Addicts ‘Doodle Caravan’ competition in 2019. Some real world characters also made it in there. Try and spot Kerby Rosanes, Mr. Doodle and Mr. Bingo!
