Inktober 2 - Familiar

I used to fish a fair amount, and when I did, I almost always used squid as bait. This was my submission for inktober's bait theme.

This year's Inktober will be based on favourite bands, songs, lyrics etc. Day 1 starts with "TheDø", song "A mess like this".

Painted as my final project for my Painting Environments course. I was super nervous about tackling this one, but learned a ton taking this course. I'm happy to move on to the next one. :-) Ironwood Forest Project parameters: - Forest full of massive trees - Implied path - River rambling through tree roots - Waterfall

I attend Inktober this year. Here is the drawing for the first day. It's traditional with ink on paper. I am going to draw several mythological creatures so I hope you will enjoy it. A couple of years ago I finally got around to reading A Fan's Notes as well as a biography of Exley. I drew this portrait of him when I finished.

Adobe just released a new drawing and painting app Fresco for the iPad. Here are few experimental images. I have to say I am impressed with the natural media brushes and the interface.

UPDATE: I was working on this illustration a while back, but I had no spare time and had to put it aside. The composition was too busy, but now I think it looks a little better. I made a few major changes, like: • Made adjustments to light sources • Created bolder outlines • Got rid of the Knight reading over the dragon's shoulder

I was like a child when watching the "Dark Crystal age of resistance" show. So mesmerizing. I had to draw right after finishing all the episodes. Seladon's a queen ! [4 September 2019]

Here's a traditional art sketch card, produced on a 4 X 5 inch blank licensed card. The cut lines are set at 2.5 X 2.3 standard trading card size. Artwork is Copic marker and Prismacolor colored pencil. This card was created as a random insert for the 2018 Rittenhouse Archives Star Trek Captains collection Card series. I'm happy to have finished this illustration. It took me a lot longer than I expected. I couldn’t help but add more and more details to the point that sometimes I lost my motivation to finish it, but i did it. :D

I'm trying to learn Clip Studio Paint and so far, it's a dream. Sure I (still) can't do everything I do with Photoshop, but it's more affordable, great to use, has a wonderful communities of artists and did I mention affordable? I'm happy with the works I do with CSP... When I don't forgot to draw on a bigger canvas than 10x10 cm -_- bad artist.
