Starting next week, I'm going back to college. I'm very excited for my courses, especially art & writing. It will be a great opportunity to explore my curiosities, improve my art skills, and grow as a person. I will share my art assignments if my instructors allow it. I would also like to write a little about each piece, which may be required for my assignments anyway.
Lately, I've been inspired by fantasy & fairytale artwork. I think fantasy & horror will make good focuses for my pre-BFA portfolio. This was a little experiment with a fairytale aesthetic. One of my goals is to use limited art supply sets & swap out colours as they run out. I feel the first colours I picked out fit with aesthetic well.
I'm proud of this drawing, especially the dress & the night sky. However, I can see some areas that I should've done differently. I'm not happy with the proportions & foreshortening of the limbs. Also, I shouldn't have used a background colour for the flowers. I added the colour to cover up a smear from the watercolour. I should avoid making large areas of solid colour, especially with my coloured pencils. I am learning & improving.
For the 30th and final day of Junefairytale, today is Pinocchio's turn.
For this day, I decided to make it so that one day at school there will be a play based on the story of Pinocchio. They chose Tonoie to play the main character, but he doesn't like it, while Tori laughs at him. Thank you all for enjoying these drawings. I hope you liked them

For this day, I decided to make the seahorse with colorful dots swimming at the bottom of the sea
For day 16 of Junefairytale, today is a hero's turn.
For this day, I decided to draw one of the Super Moshi characters, but not just a simple hero, but Hermitty Ginger (by the way, I also tried to draw what Katsuma's modern design would look like with the Super Moshi outfit),
our companion in mission 6 of season 1, but I didn't want to draw him alone, so I also included him with Penny
For day 14 of Junefairytale, today is all about dreams.
For this day, I decided to make Koya take a little nap while dreaming in a beautiful room filled with comfy pillows
For Junefairytale Day 13, it's a dragon's turn.
For this day, I decided to make the little prehistoric lizard in a dragon costume because I think it looks adorable
For June 9th Fairytale, today is the day for a cranberry.
For this day, I decided to make Pinkerton eating some cranberries that are both sour and delicious
For Day 7 of Junefairytale, today is all about pillows.
For this day, I decided to make The Little Moshlings Koala taking a little nap on top of a room full of pillows
For Junefairytale Day 6, today is the elf's turn.
For this day, I decided to make a little elf resting so that when November and December come, he'll have energy to work..
For the 5th of June Fairytale, today it's all about cookies.
For this day, I decided to make this little hamster literally called cookie eating a little cookie

Trying to learn more about Kay Nielsen's style. He illustrated folk and fairy tales in the early 1900s for Grimm and Disney and others. I love his dark/moody style with everything so flowy, elongated, elegant, and tragic. And his amazing compositions.
