Figure in landscape

My drawings depict figures that are created from my imagination. My figures are distorted and usually out of proportion as I prefer not to be constrained by reality of what we see around us . My work typically is done using a simple black biro. I find the act of drawing a vehicle to express and explore ideas in figurative forms.

The picture is terrible. the colors are much brighter... Named for the person liked it most Marker, sharpie, watercolor markers. Simple way to get out of my mind, relax, zone out, I call it brain numbing style because to me it's simple (but it's not really) and just what I do no rhyme or reason. I Just start drawing lines (no subject) with black sharpie/perm marker and see what develops, often surprise myself. I go back and see faces, objects, figures... Closing lines up I see more and then as I start adding color more images develop, no theme to begin but rather it develops as I color and close it in . I tend to see faces a lot especially in graphite or charcoal and in just about anything...rocks, wood, paneling. At times I start with a scenery or subject but turns out completely different and the original never happened. I find out after I look up from being so focused (call it zoned out)

In the Beginning There Were Three

I painted this illustration to publicly proclaim the biblical account of a six (literal) days creation by the Holy Trinity to be the true account of the origin of all things that have been, are now, and will exist. I believe the evolution theories have many holes in them and lack sound evidence to declare evolution as the true account of the origin of all matter. I believe schools should teach both theories, and let the student decide which is truth for themselves. The three figures of light that are holding the hourglass represent the Trinity—the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit—Who together created all things. The background of the painting is supposed to illustrate that the Trinity created all things from nothing. The hourglass is supposed to appear to be made of pure gold, representing a creation without corruption and decay, which would later be part of the curse the creation would be subjected to because of man’s sin. The top and bottom bases of the hourglass have the icon of the moon and sun six times to represent the six days of creation. The six spheres floating inside the hourglass represent the six (literal) days and what was created on each day. The first day, God separated the darkness from the light. This sphere is placed at the bottom of the hourglass because sand in an hourglass always flows down. The second day, God separated the sky from the sea. This is represented in the sphere located at the bottom right of the hourglass. The third day, God separated the land from the waters, represented in the top half of the sphere. The bottom part represents the plant life that was created on the same day. The fourth day, God created outer space: every star and planet. God mentions the sun was created to light the earth by day and the moon to light the earth by night. This is represented in the sphere located at the top middle of the hourglass. 1514 The fifth day, God created the creatures of the air and the creatures of the water. This is represented in the sphere located in the top right of the hourglass. The sixth day, God created both the land creatures and man. This sphere is located in the top left of the hourglass. Lovers

Face to face, eye to eye, this pair of lovers is sharing their moment, despite any other figures which comes and goes. Now, all rests in the back of the mind, buried.

Echoes

This was a transitional piece as I enlarged/zoomed out the 'mass' of the doodle towards the edge of the paper. This was one of the last pieces of abstracts before my figures surfaced from the compositions.

Danse Macabre

These figures found must cast some meanings from my subconscious. They simply came and as a whole composition! I uploaded a full description on youtube giving them individual names, mostly ghostly. This piece contains a spooky atmosphere stronger than the others and remains one of my favorites, probably because better works come effortless.

I love working tiny! So, making my artwork featuring roses or alternative girl figures is best on 2.5x 3.5 inches, or an art card/ACEO!

Nine

Except for the addition of the three hands, the preliminary scribble lines were not altered at all. These nine figures were found, slowly, not rendered It was a page of what seems senseless, crazy lines, Subconscious in the working? Yes, that's the story behind my art.

Waiting for the taxi

Illustration style retro watercolour doodle, entirely from imagination. Hence the figures have no basis in reality"life drawing", they are just my own imaginative style. "Real people"look very different. This is my stylised interpretation. Thanks for looking.

City Heat

This painting/ drawing is started in the Abstract with forms created organically. I used Acrylics and applied them liberally as you might use in watercolor techniques. I love challenging myself to create in this form, as I do in finding the figures which may form themselves in the process. I then detail the figures in a drawing style to enhance and bring it forward. It’s part of a three piece series I made in this color story and can also be seen on my ArtFinder page, available for purchase. @adrianajgarces
