That time when Lord Commander Jeor Mormont have Jon Snow his family sword, Longclaw, but change the pommel from his house sigil of a bear to a direwolf.
The direwolf is a neat ornament on Longclaw!

I really had to ponder this quote and figure out how to illustrate it. A spider came to mind...so tiny and fragile in comparison yet invokes so much fear. Then considered a daddy long leg.

No forethought or sense, just space. It's good to be mindless sometimes but remember to be aware, and compassionate with those around you, especially those closer to you. You never know what other people are dealing with. Try to be kind.
Daily drawing #643
Back in May, I wanted to do the #mermaychallenge, an online event where artists draw and share their mermaid illustrations during the entire month of May. But I knew I had limited time, with everything happening that month (buying new home/moving/fixing up the old home to sell), and a fulltime job. I created Mer-Kat, a hybrid kitten/mermaid. I felt this was such a fun new character to explore. Life underwater with a feline-based personality.
These are the results from a request to create a piece based on a fathers son's nicknames. The older brother is the moon, second the bear, third the bird. Added the stars as the parents.
His first request was of a tattoo of sorts ...but I struggled and my drawings kept turning into children illustrations. I so enjoyed the challenge and it gave me an opportunity to honor the love of family. At the same time, it was hard to associate them into a tattoo:) .

No era del azul del cielo ni del blanco de las estrellas ni del verde que tanto conocía de las copas de los arboles. Era de un color entre el suelo y el cielo. Un morado vivo que rompía con todo lo que se encontraba a su alrededor. Una flor que hizo que todos los otros colores se volvieran pequeños en un instante a la vista de Zaya.
No se atrevió a tocarla, por miedo a hacerle daño, o a que se rompiese (...)
