This is a painting of a first century Galilean fishing boat, most likely the very type of
boat used by Peter when he was called by Jesus to follow him.
This illustration is part of a bigger mural I am working on, about the ministry of Jesus
the Christ.
If you notice, the boat is beached facing backward, with the fishing net coming from
the back of the boat. This is to signify that Peter, like all the other apostles, except
Matthew the tax collector, dropped their fishing occupation and followed Jesus, Who
would make them the fishermen of men’s souls.
Here is a truth about me as an artist. Two parts of this painting gave me trouble in
carrying out this illustration. The fist was illustrating the ropes of the rigging. My first
attempt was horrendous it took me a second try to get it right. I had to look up pictures of ropes on the Internet to overcome this challenge.
The second was illustrating the rocks on the bottom of the Sea of Galilee and the
reflections of the boat on the water. I must have made about five attempts until it
finally clicked. Even when I kept looking at the reflections of boats on water, I could
not make the breakthrough.
In creating the kind of art that I do, it is very rare to find a model that meets all my
requirement for what I am illustrating. So, it takes photos and imagination and the
grace of God to create an illustration that looks better than a stick figure and communicates the message intended.
So, I figure God has me go through these challenges to keep me humble because, without humility, God is not able to use our talents for His glory.

Beginning.
The bird had a pair of sunglasses she used exclusively to daydream. Today she dreamed about blueberries. It seemed strange - maybe - to daydream about them while sitting under a blueberry bush, but the bird thought it made them sweeter. Besides, they were better conversationalists in her imagination.

Inspired by a little rabbit I've seen from the car one morning. While I was driving, the little bunny was hopping along the countryside. I was a a very peaceful and happy scene, the little guy living in its own little world, of which I only could get this one quick glimpse. All the other details remain to imagination..... Once upon a time, my dad was a mild photography geek, he liked taking pics with his old camera, (to be fair, he still is a camera geek, but he uses a phone now ) , so, he took a pic of a pumpkin, one Halloween . Toadsworthy! If a Toad like Toadsworth became a Bishop, Lol. So a "Toad" is one of those mushroom guys from Super Mario Bro's if you can't tell. I saw toadsworth and and thought if he was in medieval times of something he could probably be a bishop or something. Then you'd have Toad priests and Paladins n stuff! You could totally make a D&D campaign with Toads and koopa's n stuff! Yeah! ... lol my imagination is weird like that.

My drawings depict figures that are created from my imagination. My figures are distorted and usually out of proportion as I prefer not to be constrained by reality of what we see around us . My work typically is done using a simple black biro. I find the act of drawing a vehicle to express and explore ideas in figurative forms.
Here I am practicing drawing guys. These are all guys, believe it or not! I sketched Peter from San Domingo, the Medicine Hat Stallion. In the center is Gale from the Hunger Games. This is one of the ways I imagined he looked from the books. And below him is Hart from the Last Holiday Concert. The only guy I drew full-body was the kid on the right side. I didn’t draw him, however, with any specific character in mind, so I guess I just made him up.
