It’s been a crazy summer that’s kept me from posting much, although I’ve kept fairly consistent drawing in my sketchbook. With a cross country move and taking our oldest child to college, we’ve burned about 4,500 miles on the road in the past month. Found a fun canvas so I decided to do a fun little tree frog.

"Facade" depicts the duality between constructed appearance and natural image. The old woman manifests societal idealization of beauty within her headpiece, burdened by the intricacy. Aesthetically pleasing symbols around her echo the notions of her manifested identity. This facade subconsciously contributes to continuing superficial values.

This is a piece I made during a trip in British Columbia. I used colored pencil, watercolor and acrylics.

The sun is out on my balcony after a rainy two weeks. It was time for a splash of colour.

This is Avengers logo with some colour, it's special.
