Blocked and shaded woman

This artwork was inspired by another one I saw and I wanted to try the style out. I love how it turned out!! Although I think the hair and glasses need a bit of work.

what will probably be my last drawing of 2020 I sort of surprised myself after months of kind of muddling through half finished sketches I worked into the small hours of the morning to polish this sketch. I'm pleased with how its turned out.

Inktober madness

Various days for Inktober 2020. Coral, dizzy, and rip and dig. I had fun detailing different monsters. Dizzy is a cross between a siren and wraith, rip and dig can survive in extreme climates and hide underground for years until it's time to Fred. The original upload can be found on my instagram @malicemints_art. The link for my IG as well as other social can be found here: https://linktr.ee/malicemints_art

Graphic Journal 12/27/20

I haven't posted for awhile. The only thing I seem to be able to do right now, besides boring traditional student work (does anyone really want to see endless figure studies? I think not) is this weird graphic Journal. It may be the only thing I do for awhile here.

A Tree

I just got a drawing tablet this is the first thing I drew on it. I wanted to share it to show the progress I make in the future. It feels a lot different from drawing on paper. I clearly have a lot of improving to do.

You Dont Own Me

Starring Lesley Gore: You don't own me (1963). Let me tell you a story about women struggling to build careers in "man areas" as if building a house of cards. About a 17-year old girl singing a feminist anthem written by men in the 60s music industry dominated by men. About a young female journalist called Gloria who was supposed to write in "Womens' pages" only. About the same woman shouting out to the pink hats in 2017 as she already did to women in the 70s. Tricolor linoprint using one lino plate. December, 2020.
