Just another test - working file to try and establish the feel of the book - problem i am having is book for adults, tweens, or kids - is it too scary? In the end there are a million things that harbour self doubt so better to just "do" instead of think too hard about it. - again just a test.
Hi, I know I've been gone for a while I have not given up on my art journey I just haven't posted about it. I Draw & Paint pretty much 4 times a week I've been working on anatomy a lot lately both drawing it and studying it through videos, and books, but this is some of my progress work so far.
DOne 2023 Predator . This was commissioned by a customer who bought my Xenomorph art piece that i had posted in Craigslist.com I did not like the crouch plate, his hair,and the belt how it came out it is out of perspective and not drawn well enough. Oh boy, markers (NOT a go-to), least favorite color, and a subject that isn’t on my radar. This was a hard one what with 3 negatives going for it. But, hey, it’s a challenge, right?
Choosing a subject came first….we have a house full of Indonesian masks and sculptures. (My husband studied gamelon music in Indonesia.) Garuda, the “mount” of Vishnu and popular with Balinese artists seemed a good choice, esp. since he can be green, red, yellow or orange.
I rarely choose yellow/orange for anything---artwork, décor, clothing...though I do have a soft spot for sunflowers.
First I drew a bunch of images based on one of our wooden Garuda sculptures and then made a simplified marking pen outline and colored it with markers.
I lost my momentum after being out of town all weekend and now I'm just doodling pretty faces. And I know I'm the queen of taking bad pics of them. Oh well. At least you get a peek, right? .
I love how she is one of my easiest demon characters to draw :/ sadly I can't draw her husband yet due to being muscular and tall (I can't draw muscles with a finger).the reason why I didn't color her was because I'm saving the coloring for a video I am going to upload it another day (nobody watches them but oh well I also have fun making them too :p)
