Here are more Inktober paintings! My sketchbook is getting crinkly when I turn the pages from all this ink. I love that sound. It echoes the sound of crunchy leaves outside. Ah, fall. HALLOWEEN FOREVER.
"Focus" this piece is about focusing your intention on your dreams, activities, life. Also, I love Peggy Gou - a Korean DJ who is an absolute pleasure to watch. Not only is she super skilled, but you can tell she absolutely loves what she does.
This painting/ drawing is started in the Abstract with forms created organically. I used Acrylics and applied them liberally as you might use in watercolor techniques. I love challenging myself to create in this form, as I do in finding the figures which may form themselves in the process. I then detail the figures in a drawing style to enhance and bring it forward. Well, this is my birthday present for Adit who recently upload several cooking video on youtube (called FOOD PAPA). And now I know that I love illustrating food.
Our local antiques store had a huge treasure trove of vintage Native American themed toys and gifts this weekend. I realized that 1) I'd owned a lot of them and 2) none of my friends had. It never occurred to me that my collection was particularly large or unique. Doesn't every kid have a fixation on this country's indigenous population? Apparently not. I love the visual language of the Navajo and Hopi especially. My Kachina doll collection was the bomb.
I love Kraft paper! This is my third Kraft paper sketchbook, and definitely not my last. Splashed on some acrylic paint and got to doodling with my Rotring Isograph 0.5 mm. Happiness :-)
