Another doodle, this time using mostly shapes and lines instead of characters and faces. Also, this was done traditionally with ink instead of digitally, which I hadn't done in a while and was a lot of fun!

"Heaven was putting distance between her and everyone." ~ A blackout poem from a recycled page of Riding with the Hides of Hell, which now has a new-and-improved title, Burnout. It's a young adult story about motorcycles, a road trip, adventure, and love.

I love Pen and Ink Doodles and this was done to make me escape from what was going on in my life at the time - It works.

A doodle experiment in colour

Sometimes I like to take ink splats and try to figure out what they are. Could there possibly be anything better than "crab dab"?

This is my friend "shar" that is always there for me as a child in Africa living in those round huts. I could talk to him, share my moments of joy, sorrows, pain, and confusion. Anywhere I go he is always there with me, he is my angel.

Jar Head Scratchboard.

Patternbank is a large company who sell seamless patterns, mine too. They have nice mock ups, like this dress. The motif is a flower bouquet in a pot with geometric patterns.

This is a canvas made with a page from my Route 66 travel journal. As I was creating this, the Cubs won the World Series, so I had to add the hat...we'd waited a long time to see those hats on the lions.

An illustrated poem I did as part of my drive to learn Korean. I did this, along with 40 plus other illustrated poems, in my notebook. Colorful Goldfish - Another watercolor sketch from my newest sketchbook. I'm using Strathmore Mixed Media 300 Series (5.5 in x 8.5 in). It has 40 sheets of 90 lb. vellum surface paper. They cost under $10 and can be used for most anything including wet media (light washes) without the paper falling apart or warping badly. One of the best all purpose sketchbooks I've found and the size makes it easy to toss in a backpack and carry daily. Anyway, just wanted to share my good experience with the group. What's your favorite sketchbook brand/format?
