This is a concept sketch that i might use on a bigger piece, it has a bit more to the design that ive added on to the top of the sketch as i was playing around with different ideas and angles to look at things. i love playing around with different symbols and markings that are quite tribal and almost mystical giving a depiction of mother earth or something shamanic also playing around with the vines and branches in the hair was a cool concept.

This is an old piece created as part of a series of illustrations for a poetry book entitled "Fruit and Bones" by Elizabeth Zimmers (Yon) back in 2002. I just finished an ultimate visual catalogue as realized I didn't have any illustrations for some characters, so ai realized I had to make one. Here's Doll, the ringleader of organized crime in a mystical city.

What inspired me with this piece was an enchanted forest. The purple trees and pinkish leaves plus the somewhat colorful grass (capturing it with my camera was a little tough but its a mix of forest and deep green with some blue) and the shrooms made me think of a kind of air of mysticism and fantasy. The Elk is one of my favorite animals and I feel has a regal presence almost in it. I thought about adding more vegetation but I was afraid of adding too much. What do you think? ^^
