And we're back to class. It's amazing how a couple of weeks can get you out of shape for gestures. Medium: Vine charcoal on newsprint. Time: 7 x 2 minutes.

I took too long of a break from drawing, but so far this is coming out well. I've tried to go for a sci-fi theme, which is my favorite genre, but definitely not where my strengths are. Criticism, critiques, and suggestions are very much welcome! Also I'm going to have to find a new way of uploading my work.

I spent a chunk of my New Years break rendering masks in ink and watercolor. I can't get over their shapes and the emotionality of them.

There are some things I’m so grateful for in 2018 and then there was a lot of stuff that I would love to go away. So this is my farewell art. There’s nothing random in this doodle but I’ll keep most of it to myself. Let’s hope for a way better 19.

Trying to break out of my 2018 rut by trying new subjects. Flowers seemed right today.

Hey guys, hope yall had a great weekend! I couldn't resist doing another iPad drawing on using the Sketch Create plug-in this weekend. I think its awesome that you don’t even need to buy app to do drawings like this-Simply get this Edge extension!

First drawing in my new @doodleaddicts sketchbook. Drawn with a Custom 742 PO and colored with Prismacolor Markers.

This creation of mine is Adeline. She is from Paris,France in the year 1838. Made with watercolors (Jazperstardust, Rublev,Daniel Smith, etc...) and a bit of pencil (just the outline). Made her on my new Arches watercolor paper.

A few years ago, I noticed a new habit of doodling faerie folks who seemed to exude off of the page. They look very doodle-y but they have ‘presence’, at the same time. I don’t know if that comes across to anyone else, but it does for me so I find them interesting. They each have part of a story that they want me to tell ... Here are five of many.

So, for the new Fantastic Beasts movie, I came up with an idea to draw Newt, and so I did

New one shadowed & ready for color. Drawn with a Pilot Custom 823 FA (favorite pen at the moment) with Noodlers 41 Brown on Strathmore Mixed Media paper.

Flying Robot in the Sky, watercolor. I used my new Holbein paints. (I love them.) Drawn with a Pilot Falcon SEF using Platinum Carbon Black. A trifecta of Japanese paint, pen, and ink.

I'm trying a new subtractive technique to get black tones in my drawing, then watercoloring over top. It's sort of a printmaking approach. Sort of.

I'm trying some new techniques out. Not sure I like either of them, particularly, but one has to try occasionally.

I was tired of carrying around a bunch of Microns. I want one or two refillable pens so I started with buying a new Lamy AL-Star Fountain Pen. I love it. I got the medium nib and am able to get a nice range of line width from it. This and maybe a fine nib and I'll be all set for a travel kit. This is the first page I drew with it.
