I dream of painting, and I paint my dream.

I feel a connection to spiders but am also afraid of them.

It's ok to not make sense. It's ok to not follow a pattern. It's ok to be the odd one out. Life is too beautiful, too amazing, to eccentric, too weird to fit inside someone else's tiny little box of an opinion about you. Break free out of that and live your life on your terms.

New Year Shopping (办年货 bàn nián huò) the Chinese believe that buying new items in the new year symbolises welcoming new things and getting ready for a new start. The traditional shopping list includes meat, vegetables, fruits, candies and nuts are popular items which are later seen on the dinning or coffee table of every Chinese household during the Lunar New Year

We continue the #inktober environmental issues series with the #day19 word: #scorched and for this word I tried to illustrate the Urban Heat Island effect. This takes place in metropolitan areas that are warmer than the rural areas surrounding them. The main cause of the UHI effect is the alteration of land surfaces (concrete and asphalt). Heat waste produced by people and their tools (like vehicles and industry) is another cause and also the decreased amount of vegetation. UHIs often have lower air and water quality that have a negative effect on the environment of these areas. It is also considered to be a possible contribution to global warming. © Maria!Bălan, 2018

I don't have this one for sale on anything that I know of. It's just a sketch of a possible positive future. There are too many dystopias. If we all assume things are going to end terribly, it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Tonight is the night of the most metal moon of them all! I hope to draw beneath it and maybe absorb some werewolf powers, fingers crossed!

Since folks like the one of Mars, I figured I should upload this one as well. Same concept, but I think the Mars one worked better for the commission.

The observational sketch was done in ink. One of my few urban sketches. The grandeur of the entire cathedral was too large for me to capture in my drawing but here's a little of what I did.

This is a piece I did, based off of a prompt in a daily creating group that I am a member of on Facebook. The theme was Polka Dots (If the title wasn't obvious). Looking forward to trying out DoodleAddicts!

Experimenting with this style of doodle. Inspired by an artist I follow on Instagram sprinkled with a little HR Giger.

In this photo I drew two Betta fish, a clock and a female in a dark background. Drawing this picture was more of a self expression. The two betta fish expressed conflict; the clock expressed running out of time and the female I guess would represent myself. I was in a dark period while drawing this, but happy to say, I’ve managed to pull through my obstacles =)

Isn’t this girl something! The eye makeup and the amount and volume of black colour really turned my head. Fur and layers. Red and black hair. Something to draw with ink!

My own original character named "Vida." In celebration of Dia de Los Muertos, the beautiful Mexican holiday to celebrate those we lost.

#Swollen is the word for #inktober #day17. Because the city I live in is swollen from cars, buildings, humans, rats, pigeons, dirt and trash I considered the word to be proper for the problem of urbanization. Even if it's a natural transformation, it comes with a lot of issues. I see it as a concrete and steel monster eating the nature that stands in its way. © Maria!Bălan, 2018
