Unfinished value study for a painting, worked in graphite on hot pressed watercolor paper. Drafted and rendered using the Bargue method. Hopefully, I got the photo oriented correctly so that the drawing will be right side up, once I upload it! If anyone has advice for photographing a heavy application of graphite, without getting weird reflectiveness, or speckled effects, I’m very interested!
It's official. I've gone to the dark side and fallen in love with acrylic gouache - specifically the Liquitex one. After Inktober I thought I’d try out a daily logo challenge “Logovember” which isn’t easy with the holidays happening . Here is one of the ideas. Each design started with a simple doodle that I then created in Adobe Illustrator.
Hey everyone, sorry for such a long hiatus! The main reason is that I haven't been drawing so I had nothing to post. I also went through a name change, from BurningCinders to Umbra! For this piece, I played around with some new brushes and attempted to play with fog for the first time.
Did a doodle sketch. Didn’t really know where this idea was going when I started it then it grew into a kind of cityscape sunset in the end. I was trying to sort of do a bridge around the buildings in an abstract unidimensional way. Well thought it was creative and different in the end.
