Quarantine Bracelet

Is it art? I’m not sure but it took some color coordination. I made this while watching an E-learning video. Goes to show how much I care about the busy work that teachers are assigning.

Figure in landscape

My drawings depict figures that are created from my imagination. My figures are distorted and usually out of proportion as I prefer not to be constrained by reality of what we see around us . My work typically is done using a simple black biro. I find the act of drawing a vehicle to express and explore ideas in figurative forms.

This would be incomplete without the final piece. Don’t mind the caption, it’s not supposed to make any sense.

Good Morning

'Good Morning' quick sketch from my sketchbook showing my morning chicory / barley coffee with new morning #quaratine routine. A stared series of quick everyday sketches about mixing everyday food with the ideas of cosmos and universe. Not sure which direction it will go, but the main purpose of it is to draw and draw more especially after sucha long break in drawing....!

The pandemic of a lifetime

102 years ago, another pandemic raged across the globe. My latest comic is all about what we can learn from the 1918 “Spanish Flu” (written by Sarah Mirk + Eleri Harris). Check out the rest of the story on The Nib! thenib.com/1918-spanish-flu

Sword Lily Study

Thie sword lily flower is a mess. It’s hard to figure out what is what when drawing with a ref photo. I made this study as a stage of réparation for a final watercolor piece (more like ink and watercolor). I used cheap watercolor pencils

Magnolia grandiflora

Magnolias are spring harbingers in our garden, as well as our annual ornamental cherry display. Star magnolias are over, tulip magnolias are in full swing, and the occasional Southern magnolia is starting. Perhaps I should have done this with a gouache paint, but I used colored pencils. Oh well. Outlined after with various sizes of Pigma Micron pens. Our garden: www.edgewoodgarden.com

Catwoman

An illustration of Catwoman from DC Comics. I was in the middle of a number of other pieces and had no intention of drawing Catwoman, but this exact composition somehow popped into my mind out of the blue. Sometimes these things just come to me and I have to do something about it. It basically turned out as I first envisioned it, maybe better. I did this in Clip Studio Paint using my own custom brushes. I worked on this while streaming! You can watch my streams here! www.twitch.tv/ninjatron

Kirby

Here's Kirby! Along with some of his usual cast of characters, Waddledee, Meta Knight, King Dedede, Waddledoo, Gordo, and Whispy Woods. If a publishing company ever gets a license to make Nintendo comics, and if I am not involved in the Mario comic, then I would gladly take Kirby instead. This was a bit of an experiment. I wanted a very graphic style without outlines but with lots of texture for that hand crafted look. I made it in Clip Studio Paint, mostly using my own custom brushes. At some point I will make my brushes available as a download for purchase. Why is Whispy Woods floating in space? He's not. Never mind.
