These patterns are all made from drawings pulled from my 2017 sketchbook project. I studied fiber arts in grad school and learned how to do repeat patterns - the old fashioned way by cutting and taping paper together... I haven't done any in 25 years - until this month!
of. Malaysian delights: Ais Kacang, Cendol and traditional ice shaving machine :) Ais kacang literally mean “Bean ice” also commonly known as ABC. Which cendol, the brother (or maybe sister) of ice kacang is an iced sweet dessert that contains droplets of worm-like green rice flour jelly, coconut milk and palm sugar syrup.
This woman is the last traditional tattooist in Kalinga, Philippines. During her time, she did the tattoos of the warriors from their tribe. Her age now is around mid 90s.
