These are the results from a request to create a piece based on a fathers son's nicknames. The older brother is the moon, second the bear, third the bird. Added the stars as the parents.
His first request was of a tattoo of sorts ...but I struggled and my drawings kept turning into children illustrations. I so enjoyed the challenge and it gave me an opportunity to honor the love of family. At the same time, it was hard to associate them into a tattoo:) .

Se acercó al objeto de su curiosidad y se encontró con una pequeña flor. Una flor que no había visto nunca antes. Con un color raro que no conocía. No era del azul del cielo ni del blanco de las estrellas ni del verde que tanto conocía de las copas de los arboles. Era de un color entre el suelo y el cielo. Un morado vivo que rompía con todo lo que se encontraba a su alrededor. Una flor que hizo que todos los otros colores se volvieran pequeños en un instante a la vista de Zaya.
No se atrevió a tocarla, por miedo a hacerle daño, o a que se rompiese (...)
This drawing is of a slightly older individual and the rendering is deliberately incomplete. The unfinished nature of the image alludes to the idea that although aged, the individual has not reached the end of their lives. Therefore the subject has more living, growing, and maturing to do.
