I can't seem to do anything representational right now. I'm doing these weird "pen paintings" in the evening before bed. One painting takes me about a week. They are very relaxing just putting the color on the paper is therapeutic.
Here is a watercolor piece I made so I can relax, have fun with textures and my gold ink. It is meant to illustrate how those olive tree leaves shimer in the light of day.

Situational awareness is important these days. Pre-pandemic, I sometimes take my doodles to coffee shops during my lunch breaks and relax for half an hour or so by mindlessly scribbling/shading with my Bic pen. People usually leave me alone but this drawing made me realise that not everyone wants to see a man drawing a naked man. A few people took exception to my subjects’ lack of clothing and made their displeasure known by telling me. I figured I'd post a progress picture of the Elton John drawing I started 2-ish weeks ago. I'm coloring it based off the album booklet (from 'Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player'), so the colors in the actual picture are a bit more yellow/orange (just in case you were questioning the color choices). This has been a project I really enjoy; it's pretty relaxing.
Drawing florals in the landscape scenery was a pleasure I gave myself on Friday afternoon.

This is my most recent artwork that I completed. Recently I have been enjoying drawing with pen and coloring in with colored pencils. I don't know why, but there is something really relaxing about coloring. Like most of my drawings, this design/idea came to me during a dream I had a few days ago.
