Orangutan sketch

Orangutan sketch (Original Dimensions: 3000x3000px x 300DPI) to try out my new iPad Air M2 13 using both iArtbook Pro and Artstudio Pro artist apps. This iPad is awesome for power and quickness. Here are three main facts about adult male orangutans: 1. **Physical Characteristics**: Adult male orangutans are significantly larger than females, with an average height of about 1.2-1.5 meters (4-5 feet) and weighing around 50-100 kg (110-220 lbs). They develop distinctive physical features such as large cheek flanges (fleshy pads) and a throat pouch, which they use to produce long calls to communicate across the dense forests. 2. **Solitary Lifestyle**: Unlike many primates, male orangutans are solitary creatures. They spend most of their lives alone, except during brief periods of mating. This solitary behaviour reduces competition for food and other resources. The males will range widely and have large territories that often overlap with the ranges of several females. 3. **Long Call**: Adult male orangutans have a unique and powerful long call that can be heard over great distances. This call is used to establish territory and attract females. The call consists of a series of roars, grunts, and bellows, and it serves to warn other males of their presence, helping to maintain social hierarchy and reduce conflicts.

Support Is on The Way

Medium : Pen and Ink on Bristol Board Size : 11" x 15" Year completed : 1987 This rendering is part of a collection of illustrations entitled " The Army Years." This rendering remind me of a ride I took on A Army National Guard helicopter, while I was serving in the Air Force- Civil Air Patrol. We were helping them to figure out the safest, and fastest, flight paths between hospitals, for when a patient needs to be air lifted from one hospital to another. I got to rider in one of the sides compartments of the craft, with the side door open ( of course I was strapped in to my seat ) the craft at one point flew with my side parole to the grown, as it made a couple of sharp turn, real fun ride. I served in the Civil Air Patrol for 4 year, one of the benefits, was a lot of flying time. I Severed in the United States Army fore 9 years, 4 years National Guard, and 4 years Regular Army. While in the military , I was a anti tank toe missile crewman, Combat Engineer , and a Field Medic. I served during The Panama War, Desert Shield/ Desert Storm, Police action in Somalia. This picture is entitled " Support Is on The Way." because any field soldier know that helicopter are the main transport vehicle for delivering, supplies, mail, equipment, moving troops back and forth, from the rear to the battlefield. To Draw or Not to Draw: Honoring the Bard Behind the Desk

This portrait of Mr. Joshua Anderson—our resident Shakespeare whisperer—was drawn by student artist Covey Garrett as part of a school-wide tribute to our teachers. Students photographed, gridded, and drew 18x24” posters of their teachers, each paired with a favorite catchphrase. Mr. Anderson’s? A classic: “Hint, hint. Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.” We think the Bard would approve. "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely teachers..." (okay, we may have paraphrased a bit).

Ego and Shadow

Been developing in a way to free myself from external reference-based OC concepts, which was where I started from in drawing. In a way, exploring how I view characters from my own eyes. Here, is an example of drawing myself in two contrasting counterparts. Personal preferences are actually pretty simplistic by appearance.

Expectations by Larisa Leah Dizlarka

The symbolic painting "Expectations" is filled in with both literal and metaphorical meanings. Time passes very quickly, but when we are waiting for something, it practically stands still. Expecting an event can be unbearably tiring, or it can be enjoyable. It all depends on the circumstances. And everyone can remember something similar. The girl depicted in the painting is possibly expecting a child, or perhaps some other event. She gently hugs the clock, a symbol of time, like the belly of a pregnant woman. This expectation reveals all her inner feelings, doubts, fears, and hopes associated with this event. Time drags on for an impossibly long period, so long that it seems to her that she has already grown old from this expectation. In the painting, the artist indicates this with the gray hair of a young girl. Despite the long wait, the girl smiles and hopes for the best. The artist used warm pastel colors of oil paints on canvas with gilding. The painting was created using clockwork to enhance the meaning. The artwork "Expectations" is part of a “Time” series of paintings with clocks.
