Since the dawn of l’automatisme, the floating shapes of Miro and Klee were praised as musical suggestions. Unlike the Masters, my groundwork of flowing lines speaks melody and rhythm from a musical score perspective. The flow of lines ties the art elements into a composition. It also reflects a concept from Chinese paintings, which says, ` as a line moves into the invisible, the idea continues.’

Some works were born to be prodigious. Once the preliminary lines were laid within the first minute, the quality of the shapes, the diagonal composition and the weight were balanced out. With the black mass as the hood, a face, hidden underneath, is unveiled. With the addition of the black fingers and the white hand, the full figure surfaced naturally. The materials that Meir uses in her works are not of the refined and so she is called an “arte povere” artist. At times she describes her work as someone dealing in alchemy - work develops as in a trial laboratory with different techniques and materials. She says, “ at times the artistic work process is a sort of puzzle demanding the filling in of all the empty squares “. Some of her work focuses on women, and they incorporate criticism and cultural protest. Meir has strong opinions about recycling and environmental protection that is represented in her works by use of materials and shapes. In her work she reacts to contemporary art that communicates with the eco system, waste, and she also searches for different worlds. Her works are made up of layers upon colorful layers that when we look at them it becomes clear that the mound of waste she chose is not coincidental. It actually becomes a colorful kaleidoscope of utopia. Jaffa Meir is a multifaceted, autodidact artist working in painting, sculpture, photography, product design, carpets and furniture, painting on textile, and computer graphics. The structural composition of some of the works is influenced also by her many years of working in the architects’ office. Meir also worked in the developing of ideas within the field of ecosystems and recycling for factories such as Coca Cola, and during this process came up with ideas for designing parks and public game spaces using industrial waste products.

This is one of 24 small presents for the children of my class. Every day a different child is allowed to open a small package in the shape of a house. There it will find a tiny wooden disc. Each wooden disc was painted with a different animal. The pictures were drawn with acrylic markers. They will also receive a small bottle with glitter and a german word that has to do with winter or christmas.

The First Glorious Mystery: The Resurrection! While Jesus' body was entombed he descended into the Underworld in order to free and bring to heaven all the righteous that died before Him. Jesus is victorious over death, Robed in Heavenly white, He is surrounded by a mandorla of star-studded light, representing the Glory of God. Christ is shown dramatically pulling Adam, the first man, and Eve from the tomb. Jesus does the work, that is why He is pulling Adam from the tomb by the wrist, and not the hand. Surrounding him are Holy Men and Women of the Old testament and who died before. St. Joseph is also there almost saying to the others "That's my boy! :)" Haha. John the Baptist and King David are present. On the other side we have little Abel next to Eve, Judith with her sword, Esther in royal purple and Ruth. I'd like to include even more but I'll need a much bigger piece of paper or canvas. :P This Icon is also called the "Harrowing of Hades" “Harrow” comes from the Old English word used to describe the ploughing of a field with a cultivator which is dragged roughly over the ground, churning it up. In the icon, Christ is shown with the instrument of His death plunged deep into Hades. Victory Through Prayer Medium: Water Color Markers on Illustration Board Size 2' x 4' Year completed: 1991 This illustration is part of a collection of artwork I did while in the military entitled, "The Army Years", I served in the Army National Guard for 5 years, and the regular Army for 4 years. One of the main reasons I got out of the military is because I didn't have much time to do my artwork. While I was stationed in Germany I did a few posters, and banners for a German/ American Playhouse, and I was in a European art show. This illustration was done during The Desert Shield / Desert Storm, during this war, many soldiers were afraid that our military equipment would fail to function due to the desert sand. While I was stationed in Germany, I attended a Christian hospitality house, that ministered to military personnel, and their families. I knew and heard of soldiers who died or were wounded in the war, we prayed for God's protection for those we knew were in harm's way. I believe the reason the casualties were low for the collision force is that God gave them a swift victory on the battlefield. No one should think that it was just might, and smart bombs, Iraq had the 4th largest military in the world. The Bible teaches that God causes the rise and the fall of nations. Decoding the symbolism : The " v " with lightning bolt shooting out of it =God giving the collision forces victory over Iraq's military. The large bold eagle with the arrows in its right talon, and with it's left talon open to attack, = the U.S. attacking Iraq. The banner made up of the flag of the collision, tie to the eagle's open talon= The U.S. leading the collision nation in the war against Iraq. The necklace with the cross attached to it, around the eagle's neck = God protect around the U.S. forces, the result of intercessory prayer of Christians. The flag of Iraq illustrated in the shape of the geological area mass of country, being shattered by the lighting = God judging Iraq, by giving the collision power to conquer Iraq and occupy her land. Like smoke, the line finishes as soon as it began. There is no room for any colour shapes, or anything else to be done to it; any additions would disturb the coherent of the flow. Contrast, balance and flow all met there. Art simply surfaced at that very moment and left a trace. This very line represents 3 decades of work!

The only line added consciously is the hand. It leads the eye to the eye and thereby showing the viewers that it is in fact a figure. The shape on the right feels kind of right to be there, it really does not matter what it is. Compositional-wise , it works.

Working on a tattoo for myself that's based on the Disney Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion. The Tightrope Girl is part of the expanding elevator in the beginning of the ride. I changed the shape of the original painting to a coffin; simplified everything down; and added some flourishing. I'm not great at flourishing yet.

What do you see? I usually don't have a plan when I put my pen to the paper. A lot of the time, I just draw what comes to me and sometimes it starts to form into other "bigger" shapes/objects like this one.
