Me facing this cruel world

I decided to sketch my favorite YouTuber, today. I'm not great at drawing people, so I often sketch people that I idolize (Or just like) the most. I think it turned out really well, so I just had to post it. Hope you guys love it.

This is a raccoon I drew in pen and ink. I used Copic multiliners and then a Copic sketch marker for the background.

Here it is! The 4th Glorious Mystery: The Assumption of Our Blessed Mama, Body and Soul, into Heaven. I studied some icons on the dormition of our lady in order to get some ideas for this one. In the Icons Jesus is holding the Soul of Our Lady. Just as she bore him and held Him as a child so now Jesus holds her and brings her into heaven. Then you can see her assumed body above. Oh and according to ancient tradition all the apostles were brought together for this event. "Henceforth all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me" (Lk 1:48-49). "The Most Blessed Virgin Mary, when the course of her earthly life was completed, was taken up body and soul into the glory of heaven, where she already shares in the glory of her Son's Resurrection, anticipating the resurrection of all members of his Body" (CCC, 974). Another attempt to work on more dynamic posing, I did a series of sketches pushing the pose into something outlandish and a tad pin-uppy for my unnamed Houdini knockoff escape artist. I used a different framework technique than usual to help me along, but I'm noticing now a few errors in the final sketch as per usual :)

Yesterday's challenge from my son: different versions of Batman meeting. I did this on my iPad, which I'm still learning to use for art. I don't like my figure work on the iPad as much as I do on paper, but it does make coloring easier. I'd welcome advice on using an IPad for sketching.

These beauties make my life so enjoyable! Love these girls so much.

I know this is simpler and a quicker piece, but this is the drawing for my August journal. I started doing these back in March, with each month's drawing being based off a song. This month is "Golden Slumbers" by the Beatles, July was "Tower of Babel" by Elton John. (The pencil sketch eye I previously posted is indeed now in my journal.)

Some months ago, I uploaded a drawing of the front of our house. This time, I drew the back of the house---in the same style. Last time, I used a Pigma Micron 005 pen, this time, I used a Uniball Signo Gel pen---which made the drawing a bit looser. This is a large house in the Pacific NW Modern style (a late 70's incarnation) with characteristic big windows, skylights, and jutting angles.

It was the first time I tried using a Fabriano 200 gsm cold pressed watercolor paper. And I had learned different techniques in watercolors through the process of creating this painting. It was also fun painting the waves. Thank you, Maria Raczynska.

It was International Friendship Day yesterday, so I made a little something. Pokémon is a huge part of my childhood, and I'd like to draw something for it. The 2nd Glorious Mystery: The Ascension of Jesus. "So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God" (Mk 16:19). Christ is ascending in glory while blessing his people and holding a scroll which represents fulfillment of the old testament and knowledge, Jesus is the source of all knowledge. This "icon" shows also those who did not actually witness the historical ascenscion (St. Paul) because we are called like them to participate in Christ's acenscion. The group represent the Church focused on Christ. The rainbow is of emerald like the book of revelation describes on His second coming because as the angels say, he will return in the same way.
