I decided to sketch my favorite YouTuber, today. I'm not great at drawing people, so I often sketch people that I idolize (Or just like) the most. I think it turned out really well, so I just had to post it. Hope you guys love it.

This is a raccoon I drew in pen and ink. I used Copic multiliners and then a Copic sketch marker for the background.

Here it is! The 4th Glorious Mystery: The Assumption of Our Blessed Mama, Body and Soul, into Heaven. I studied some icons on the dormition of our lady in order to get some ideas for this one. In the Icons Jesus is holding the Soul of Our Lady. Just as she bore him and held Him as a child so now Jesus holds her and brings her into heaven. Then you can see her assumed body above. Oh and according to ancient tradition all the apostles were brought together for this event. "Henceforth all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me" (Lk 1:48-49). "The Most Blessed Virgin Mary, when the course of her earthly life was completed, was taken up body and soul into the glory of heaven, where she already shares in the glory of her Son's Resurrection, anticipating the resurrection of all members of his Body" (CCC, 974). I've been pretty good lately about keeping a certain feeling at bay, but today it feels like it's set in a little.

I first drew my hand (I like that bit more) and then I tried to draw a butterfly. Then I sketched one of my plants, and I realized it looked like a hand in a garden. BTW I have no idea how to draw a butterfly.

So some of you may be thinking.. But what does Link look like in his developing cartoony style? Well here he is! If you don't know Link, the Hero of Courage, is from a game called the Legend of Zelda. Usually on my home visit I will play as Toon Link with my friends and family when we play Super Smash Brothers. Another attempt to work on more dynamic posing, I did a series of sketches pushing the pose into something outlandish and a tad pin-uppy for my unnamed Houdini knockoff escape artist. I used a different framework technique than usual to help me along, but I'm noticing now a few errors in the final sketch as per usual :)

Yesterday's challenge from my son: different versions of Batman meeting. I did this on my iPad, which I'm still learning to use for art. I don't like my figure work on the iPad as much as I do on paper, but it does make coloring easier. I'd welcome advice on using an IPad for sketching.

These beauties make my life so enjoyable! Love these girls so much.
