So I've just downloaded the "Sketchbook" app and am hoping to do great things with it. This is my first piece of art on it, so I'll consider it a test of sorts and not really put much into it. This ft blue cat named Matt.....I'm not sure if is considered an OC since its a poorly drawn test sketch character, but then again I did give it a name. IDK,you tell me. Its more of a doodle from me. :\
Some things I saw and drew but didn't share. A friendly dog who wanted to say hello, a bride and a groom on the way to the wedding waiting for the train (she wore plastic slides and had her high heels in the bag), a lost cicada, a book (Sula by Toni Morison was absolutely amazing). Oh and also using dry ice to make dramatic seltzer.
This picture I posted yesterday, the difference is the face- I hated it so much that I decided to fix it then upload it again. This just goes to show how fixing something simple can fix the whole picture. I hope you don't think I have OCD for fixing the face then uploading it again, lol
After being stuck with an A5 pad for a month, i finally got my hands on a A3 one. What better way to celebrate than painting a messy room? No rules, no plans, just making things up as i go.
I love creating work that starts from a point in nature and develops into something more abstract, something that can be interpreted in many different ways. It’s interesting to hear what people see, what connection to their own life they bring when viewing a work.
Raise a hand if you've ever been pressured into any kind of physical activity that made you uncomfortable. Raise your hand if you've been raped, touched, pressured into sending pictures, or anything of the sort? A lot of you, ey? Bet you dunno who to tell, or how to tell em'. Or maybe you don't even want to tell them. But you still feel so many strong emotions about it, or maybe you don't feel anything. No matter what the case is, what you are going through/went through is valid. You are valid. I hope this piece finds you well. Weird things, that I come up with.This is just some of the stuff, I have doodled and/or done. I really love Ancient Egyptian mythology and was testing out my gold and silver paint pen. Sadly the pens both ran out of paint. :(
A few years ago this little guy showed up. He started appearing in my doodles as encouragement. Always defending, never judging. He is the side of my brain that tells me everything is going to be OK. He builds me up, which is why I named him Buil.
So, my sister asked if I would draw her unborn baby as a movie monster to hang in the nursery. She loves the Thing from 1982. This is what I delivered. Apparently, I went a little too disturbing for a baby's room haha gonna have to go another route. The small photo is from her ultrasound
Twizzy loves all things yellow. Cause it feel like the sun and is always bright. Speaking of which , she also likes flowers. Her faves are sunflowers, marigolds, buttercups, tulips, etc.
A pencil and watercolour study, inspired by Scott Christian Sava's "60 days of studying the masters" on Youtube. This was intimidating from start to finish, by far the most complex drawing I've ever done! It took me almost a week to get the drawing right, but the painting was done in a day. In between were many days of feeling overwhelmed, lost, and then afraid of messing it up. But I got there in the end and I think I pushed myself to a new skill and confidence level. Good thing too, I've got 58 more studies to do!
