Rene Descartes

René Descartes (1596–1650) Descartes was a late riser. The French philosopher liked to sleep until mid-morning, then linger in bed, thinking and writing, until 11:00 or so. His comfortable bachelor’s life ended abruptly in late 1649, Descartes accepted a position in the court of Queen Christina of Sweden. Descartes accepted a position in the court of Queen Christina of Sweden,Arriving in Sweden, in time for one of the coldest winters in memory, Descartes was notified that his lessons to Queen Christina would take place in the mornings—beginning at 5:00 A.M. He had no choice but to obey. But the early hours and bitter cold were too much for him. After only a month on the new schedule, Descartes fell ill, apparently of pneumonia; ten days later he was dead. - From Daily Rituals: How Artists Work by Mason Currey “Dubito, ergo cogito, ergo sum. I think I should say that I do not speak English, and I use a translator...o(iДi)o ••• I've been gone a long time. And I'm with my original character! This is Vivien Shaw, nicknamed "the prophet." He can predict the future, travel through time, and many other things, he-he! (*´▽`)ノノ Well, what else can I say about him... Yes, perhaps there is nothing? Ah, good night to me!.. (*´﹀`*)

Long time no see! (≡^∇^≡)

I haven't been here for a long time... I'm back with new art! I tried to draw it in the same ✨Chinese✨ style, ha-ha! I like it, I think it's not bad for the first time. o(〃^▽^〃)o This is my character (my friend and I share), but it seems to me that the translator translates his name incorrectly, so I'm not inserting it here. o(╥﹏╥) P.S.: smiles at his husband, he-he-he. Celestial Bodies

Pun play to encourage positive body image. Freckles, moles, skin tags. Love them or hate them, they are part of our body. As one who enjoys stargazing, I think that the dots on our body resembles stars in the night sky. Truly beautiful. Sometimes when I’m bored, I play connect the dots on my limbs, and they do resemble constellations.

SeaDragon?

A true doodle? Messing around with some markers. I think this character was originally supposed to be a HH OC, but wound up looking more like some reject from an 80's cartoon (which is acceptable to me lol).

Imprisoned in Ice

I recently remembered hearing stories and seeing games showing the Devil trapped in ice in some way. It seemed so cool I decided to try it out. I'll admit that this form of the Devil is not the coolest or most intimidating, but I think it works. Kind of like the Anti-Christ sort of look. What do you guys think?

Projects and Shadows

Tao Te Ching “A great nation is like a great man: When he makes a mistake, he realizes it. Having realized it, he admits it. Having admitted it, he corrects it. He considers those who point out his faults as his most benevolent teachers. He thinks of his enemy as the shadow that he himself casts.” ~~~~~~~ CIM Chapter 10 88 Children perceive terrifying ghosts and monsters and dragons, and they are terrified. Yet if they ask someone they trust for the real meaning of what they perceive and are willing to let their interpretations go in favor of reality, their fear goes with them. When a child is helped to translate his “ghost” into a curtain, his “monster” into a shadow, and his “dragon” into a dream, he is no longer afraid and laughs happily at his own fear. You, my children, are afraid of your brothers and of your Father and of yourselves. But you are merely deceived in them. Chapter 12 35 It is through these strange and shadowy figures that the insane relate to their insane world. For they see only those who remind them of these images, and it is to them that they relate. Thus do they communicate with those who are not there, and it is they who answer them, and no one hears their answer save him who called upon them, and he alone believes they answered him. Projection makes perception, and you cannot see beyond it. Again and again have men attacked each other because they saw in them a shadow figure in their own private world. And thus it is that you must attack yourself first, for what you attack is not in others. Its only reality is in your own mind, and by attacking others, you are literally attacking what is not there. 36 The delusional can be very destructive, for they do not recognize that they have condemned themselves. They do not wish to die, yet they will not let condemnation go. And so they separate into their private worlds, where everything is disordered and where what is within appears to be without. Yet what is within they do not see, for the reality of their brothers they cannot see. 41 Vision depends on light, and you cannot see in darkness. Yet in the darkness in the private world of sleep, you see in dreams, although your eyes are closed. And it is here that what you see you made. But let the darkness go, and all you made you will no longer see, for sight of it depends upon denying vision. Yet from denying vision, it does not follow that you cannot see. But this is what denial does, for by it you accept insanity, believing you can make a private world and rule your own perceptions. Yet for this, light must be excluded. Dreams disappear when light has come and you can see.

Frost

Inktober Day 20 Frost I think this is one of my best drawings. I actually put a lot of thought and work into this one, then I did the previous ones. Stipling is a very hard, time consuming, and patient way of doing ink drawings. I have seen beautiful stippling drawings and wanted to try on this one.

Anxiety Has Me

I was feeling very anxious one day so I decided to look up what to do on Google. Google recommended I draw a bunch of circles. So I started drawing tiny circles, (if you zoom in you will see all of the circles!) and it turned out looking like an eye. So I added a tear :) The circles didn't help my anxiety much but hey it is an alright piece of art don't you think?

A Fixed Picture

This picture I posted yesterday, the difference is the face- I hated it so much that I decided to fix it then upload it again. This just goes to show how fixing something simple can fix the whole picture. I hope you don't think I have OCD for fixing the face then uploading it again, lol

Flower of the sun VS. Flower of the dead

I told myself, weeks ago that i would be post two or three times a week but here I am posting after a month of nothing. I have been painting alot more, but i finally completed something and am ready to post it. I decided flowers because i like flowers. I did a life vs. death kind of thing. I was hesitant about painting these because i was thinking to myself do i like flowers because i like them or because im a women and society norms tell me to? I know it sounds stupid but its these kind of thoughts that stop me from doing things i enjoy or want to do in life. Thoughts?

A new beginning
1/4

Hi, I know it’s been a while since I posted something but I got locked out of my phone last week and it took the whole week to get it unlocked and I’m just now getting back online. I also took a few days to think about the kind of art i want to post to this account. I started this year doing a 365 day challenge to draw something every single day but of course life is unpredictable no matter how much you prepare for it and posting every single day having something creative to share on Instagram did not work, so instead of posting every single day I’m just gonna post two or three times a week. I’m going to post stuff that I like that I’m proud of, that’s worthy of mentioning about. Soooo ,look forward to that | (• ◡•)| P.S. I’ve realized I like drawing and painting on objects more then I do canvas and paper which is why my future projects are mostly on objects.
