Kingfisher and the Lotus Pod ~ What colour is your kiss?

This was an exercise in taking a photo that was quite dark and foreboding and turning it into a happy looking illustration. I'm slowly getting my head around how to make my work look like illustration instead of "fine art". This is watercolour and colour pencil.

I have painted these birds using Arteza gouache colors on black sketchbook by Artway ltd.

Butterfly # ?? : The Swallowtail this was hard! Firstly trying to illustrate a swallowtail without decapitating a poor swallow... then trying to fit these two together. More paint splatter effect for a bit of zing
