What a wonderful Kirkus review!
(Paired here with my favorite improper contraction.)
"A thoughtful look at life, in all its beauty and strangeness.
...
This delightfully deadpan musing on life urges compassion for others. Howden’s straightforward text is on the philosophical side, though also rooted in the absurd. Hahn’s spare black graphite pencil watercolor, mostly set against a white background, are imbued with humor and empathy for the pickle, with the foodstuff’s expressive eyes conveying many emotions at once. THE WISE PICKLE
by Sarah Howden ;

RELEASE DATE: June 23, 2026
I had to re-upload her the last one was so UN-proportional I couldn't stand it. But I know I need to work on hands and fingers. It's an alien that lives in a doll like body. It can manipulate the doll, moving fingers, arms and eyes. So nothing like cutting open your doll just to find an alien creature living inside. No, my aliens will not have any gender. Why don't we reproduce like worms, get split into two.

I honestly don't like using color tones like this. I actually really enjoy the black and white contrast. I have always loved black and white images, cartoons and movies. But I try.
One of many exercises in asymmetrical symmetry over here. "Sunny's Waves" doodle drawing. 6" x 6" / Micron Pens on 100lb Acid Free Archival Bristol 2 Ply Paper.
I completed reinvented Chump. Ok, so story time. When I was 16 I created Chump. The name came from a nickname I received, I won't go that deep. But, I created her in black and white. The original design was inspiration from Tim Burton. But over the years she had changed due to my own imagination and maturity. But I suppressed her for a long time. A few years ago I brought her back to life. But I wasn't happy with how she was turning out. So the last few years my life spiraled and I have grown and changed. So now I felt it only right to change Chump as well. She has been an extension of me. I wanted so much for Chump, but she got lost in static and time. But here she is new and improved. She represents the part of me that keeps fighting and will not stop despite the odds and opinions.
This is a major redesign of an OC that I came up with a while back. She's a hardened battle general, fighting on the worst day of her life. The assault has failed, soldiers have been lost, and the darkness has used memories of her husband to lure her to her doom. She's not going to go down easy.
