Ink Samples

My husband got me two new fountain pens and a sample of inks from Goulet pens about a month before the pandemic. I think those ink samples got me through the last 7 weeks of lockdown in an already dreary winter.

Life will find a way

In barren wintermonths you may start to wonder if spring will ever come again. Yes it does. Plants already have done their preparations. Life will be on earth till the sun dies down, people might not. Nature has it's ways, but those might not involve humans per se.

Bookmark 012820

I saw someone else on Doodle Addicts doing really great bookmarks and I remembered that last winter, when I couldn't seem to do anything else creative, I made a bunch of bookmarks. It's a way of trying out things, and using fun media like these glitter pens I inherited.

Enjoy your Winter

This was a gift for a friend of mine. I only knew her a few months, but I really enjoyed her company and she loved penguins. This started as a joke, but it eventually became my goodbye gift to her. Hope you are happy whereever you are :) Please enjoy - Crypto

Festive Ferret

I wanted to try and do a digital piece of a ferret and incorporate winter clothes while using a limited palette I found on Adobe Draw. This was a lot of fun!

Reading about the Winter Olympics a few weeks ago inspired this piece. There are roughly 8 layers on here to build up the color.

Rene Descartes

René Descartes (1596–1650) Descartes was a late riser. The French philosopher liked to sleep until mid-morning, then linger in bed, thinking and writing, until 11:00 or so. His comfortable bachelor’s life ended abruptly in late 1649, Descartes accepted a position in the court of Queen Christina of Sweden. Descartes accepted a position in the court of Queen Christina of Sweden,Arriving in Sweden, in time for one of the coldest winters in memory, Descartes was notified that his lessons to Queen Christina would take place in the mornings—beginning at 5:00 A.M. He had no choice but to obey. But the early hours and bitter cold were too much for him. After only a month on the new schedule, Descartes fell ill, apparently of pneumonia; ten days later he was dead. - From Daily Rituals: How Artists Work by Mason Currey “Dubito, ergo cogito, ergo sum. (English: "I doubt, therefore I think, therefore I am")” ― Rene Descartes #dailyrituals #inktober #reneDescartes @masoncurrey #wouldratherdiethangetupearly
