Kitaka the Gorilla!
1/5

I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to paint a design on a rather large gorilla! I am so excited to do this. It's taking an age but getting there slowly. When he's all done he will be going on show at Paignton Zoo.

#25 Christmas Art Contest 2023

#25 Christmas Art Contest - I'm pretty sure I drew this in 2023 if I'm not mistaken. It was for a Christmas art contest at magma.com and drawn directly on their website using an iPad pro. And well, although I met all the requirements I didn't place in the top four. The rules stated that we had to pair up with another member from the website art community to draw a Christmas themed picture relating to anything from our childhood. What you see is only half the picture. My project-partner Andy added his portion to the collaboration, but I removed his pen strokes just for my website. That's why on the right side of the picture the Christmas tree and edge appear unfinished. This image is huge, like 5000 pixels. This website will resize the image losing details, but if you would like to zoom-in to a higher resolution, try this link to get a closer look. M is for Masstransitscope. Masstransitscope is a zooetrope made by Bill Brand in 80s. Now restored and enjoyed on the B line going from Brooklyn to Manhattan. It never fails to make me happy.

Nature girl

I drew this at a zoom climate event on a postcard. It will be sent to a state politician. I drew it with colored pencils (I got inspired by @DoisPontoseMeio's art.) I think the face is good, that's the reason I uploaded it but the rest isn't that great (I'm still learning how to draw things other than faces.)

Christina Ricci

Lead pencils F,B-B7, kneatable- ,normal-, pencil eraser, paper stomps, tissue on A3 bamboo fibre rag paper. Choose to draw her bald, for no particular reason. Zoom in for full detail. Photographed in the sunlight with the canon 28 mm f/1.8 prime lens. Photoshop for greysteps contrast-boost and cropping. Like if you dare. Or else post some critique. Just some try to imagine Christina bald. Realistic? Still doodling? Her eyes are like dominating the whole draw... kind of unreal, isn´t it?

A search within

There is a theory that Universe is a consciousness. To find what is out there we have to find what is in our own consciousness. So thats a zoomed in eye and the interstellar spaceship going in the space that exist within us.

The Florida Journal, Part 1
1/5

I went to Florida and kept a chronicle of my adventures! This is part 1 of 3, in which my husband comes down with Lyme disease and I go to Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom. I realize my address is in here, but it's a PO Box, so I'm not worried. Feel free to send me drawings; I'll send you something back if you include a return address.

Kitaka the mountain Gorilla
1/5

I was lucky enough to get to illustrate a beautiful Gorilla sculpture for Paignton Zoo. He took me 18 months to complete as he was under a purpose built awning at my house. Too hot and the pens dried up, too cold and my fingers froze! He now sits at the zoo and I miss him terribly! He Was decorated using acrylic markers on a white gloss base then varnished with car varnish.

Anxiety Has Me

I was feeling very anxious one day so I decided to look up what to do on Google. Google recommended I draw a bunch of circles. So I started drawing tiny circles, (if you zoom in you will see all of the circles!) and it turned out looking like an eye. So I added a tear :) The circles didn't help my anxiety much but hey it is an alright piece of art don't you think?

EKP-334 (creature)

This critter's technically unnamed, so if you have any suggestions please comment them, I do like feedback sometimes lol. The scene is set on an eco-planet, somewhat like a zoo but more future tech-y. The ring in the sky is a sort of shield against any stray space rocks as shown. Hope you like it. (older drawing, made with Krita, all my drawings so far were from Krita actually)

Zoo trip.

Reminds me of a Buddhist proverb: Patiently I will bear harsh words as the elephant bears arrows on the battlefield. Words are powerful. They stir emotions. We are the managers of our emotions. It is not what happens to us that is the issue, it is our opinion of what happens to us that is the issue. Peace.
