Inktober 2020, Day 25: "Buddy".
I thought what better match for the prompt than Stanley Stegosaurus, which my parents got to me when we moved to the US, when I was six. Stanley was a good buddy to me, when I didn’t understand at first the weird language spoken by those American kids. It has also been a good buddy to me during this weird pandemic time, when my IRL social life seems to be limited to maybe meeting one person once a month.
Brush pens and posca on coloured A4.
Starring Django Django: Marble Skies (2018). Let me tell you a story about chasing dreams and overcoming obstacles. About the recurring feeling of "rain following marble skies". About success and frustration. About fascination and mania. Tricolor linoprint using one lino plate. September, 2020.
Found a shady spot to sketch a little street in our beautiful city of San Francisco. I have been surprised to learn how much fun vehicles are to draw. My four year old loves them.
Turkey Vulture (Cathartes aura) done for a local drawing contest. Graphite, colored pencils and clean up on Photoshop. More like this illustration on: https://www.instagram.com/camilojulianc/
Inktober 2020, Day 24: "Dig". Just a front-end loader based on a photo on Wikimedia commons. I have to say this one brought weird flashbacks from very early childhood. I haven’t really been drawing construction machines since I was a 5 or something like that :D Brushpens and posca on brown A4
I created him for the same universe as Guardian. I have a vague backstory for both in mind, maybe I'll write it down one day. Sketch done in pencil, colored digitally.
I had just started painting again and all the years if holding back...holding it in, caught up with me. California was burning and the demons inside of me were smoldering too, waiting to get out.
Starring Don McLean: American Pie (1971).
Let me tell you a story about realizing that good old times are over. About "the day the music died" when three rock'n roll legends died in a helicopter crash. About Buddy Holly's widowed bride left behind.
Tricolor linoprint using one lino plate. October, 2020.
Inktober Prompt: RIP (I suspect that it was rip=tear, but since Halloween is just around the corner, Rest In Peace seemed a timely prompt :-) Shaeffer Tuckaway fountain pen, Hero blue black ink
