ROMUALDITO

Botanical Deer Skull with Mushrooms

I made a Floral Deer Skull with some mushrooms. I didn't really have a plan when I made this, so it kind of progressed on a whim. Not a bad way really. Anyway, I used mixed media on this one. A combination of pen and ink and procreate. Artwork by Janelle Dimmett. www.janelledimmett.com

Quilt Square

Not a beautiful work of art I know. I hope I paint better. But 70 hours of my life made from materials and techniques utilized by those who crossed our nation in covered wagons. I made this for the Episcopal Church in Prestonsberg. The bishop is retiring and 36 Churches in Eastern Kentucky are all making quilt squares for a quilt for him. The material is doubled so it insulates well.

Bob the Blob!

An intuitive mix of fluid watercolor gradients and intricate fineliner patterns, wrapped up in a golden border. A little bit biological, a little bit whimsical.

Critically Endangered The White-headed Vulture

Drawn with Clip Studio Paint and XP-Pen Artist 15.6 Pro pen display tablet. Critically Endangered The White-headed Vulture has undergone catastrophic declines in population number, with an estimate median decline in 96% over three generations (45 years) This decline has been seen in its very large range from West Africa, across to southern Africa also. Reductions in populations of medium-sized mammals and wild ungulates, as well as habitat conversion throughout its range best explain the current decline. Additional threats include indirect poisoning at baits set to kill jackals in small-stock farming areas. This species is also recorded in trade in West and Central Africa as this species is used for both traditional medicines and also they are intentionally killed for use in witchcraft. This species is part of the Accipitridae bird family, which diverged from all other species of bird 49.6 million years ago during the Paleogene period. Vultures split from the other genera in this family 12.7 million years ago. This species is highly sensitive to land-use and is concentrated to protected areas. Individuals were marked with patagial (wing) tags in Fouta Djallon vulture sanctuary to monitor movements and for a toxicological assessment of the vulture population of the park. Additional studies to monitor the movements of individuals within and between protected areas in underway is South Africa. christmas tree

THE SMALLER YOU ARE THE BIGGER CHRISTMAS IS. Underneath the Christmas tree Christmas is vast, it is a green jungle with red apples and sad, peaceful angels twirling around on cotton thread keeping watch over the entrance to the primaeval forest. In the glass balls the primaeval forest is never-ending; Christmas is a time when you feel absolutely safe, thanks to the Christmas tree. - Sculptor's Daughter by Tove Jansson #dailydrawing #tovejansson

I'm great at doing the prep work for a big project. But Wrecks is always there to remind me how anxiety inducing a project of that scale is. So, he throws me into another one I'm not prepared for.

Lilies in Lake

A vibrant, hand-drawn marker illustration featuring a rustic wooden cabin perched on the edge of a tranquil lake. The foreground is filled with glowing green lily pads, leading the eye toward rolling green mountains under a bright, cloudy sky. This piece captures the essence of a peaceful summer escape and the beauty of lakeside living.

The Phenomenon of Love

This work is purposely incomplete. I will facilitate a group of people who will color in the black and white template as well as have the option of making their own art freehand. Individual and couple contributions will be combined to make our composite mural. People who participate in this event will thus listen and speak while creating artwork for the mural. For my part I will explain the latest research concerning the hormones involved in the physiology and neurology of falling in love and remaining in love

Watercolour Selfie

A bit on the rough side right now, since I'm just getting started (again) on watercolours. I've never painted this loosely before so this is a big step for me. Maybe I'll try a selfie again in a few months to see how I've progressed.

Bite

"A dark man went on shovelling outside the door and all of a sudden I started to cry and I screamed: I'll bite him! I'll go outside and bite him! I shouldn't do that, Mummy said. He wouldn't under-stand. She screwed the top on to the bottle of Indian ink and said: what about going home? Yes, I said. So we went home." - Sculptor's Daughter by Tove Jansson #dailydrawing #tovejansson

I've been absent from the site for months, due to working on a book. But now that I have a bit of spare time, I've been dabbling in watercolours, something I haven't done in years. A bit rough to start but I'm enjoying it.
