Big-eared Brown Bat (Histiotus macrotus). Hybrid technique (digital enhanced watercolor). This species has large dark ears. The dorsal hairs are strongly bicolored, with black or dark brown bases and yellow tips. Some authors consider that H. macrotus is distributed only in Chile and Argentina. I have long been fascinated by the vision of a campfire in a dark forest and I have drawn a few versions of it with different results. This is the latest attempt
I took an hour or two and drew some owls while watching the 7th Harry Potter movie. It's official. I've gone to the dark side and fallen in love with acrylic gouache - specifically the Liquitex one. If "Cuphead; The Delicious Last Course" had a more darker ending, where you literally break Chef Saltbaker's heart. The other Inkwell residents would be attending his funeral, and he spends an eternity cooking in Hell.
Superstitions: Nightmare
The 'nightmare' was originally believed to be a huge spirit which settled on people while they slept and gave them a feeling of being stifled - and in Europe an old preventative for this was to place a knife or something similar at the end of the bed, as it was well known that the denizens of darkness feared iron and steel.
