Toys used to be so much cooler back in the day. I realize this makes me sound like a very old nerd. I also realize that I AM a very old nerd. So there's that.
This sketchbook spread features a man whispering some Yin Yang song lyrics into a lady's ear. I drew them separately, then realized the guy was definitely hitting on her. I can't imagine that singing the lyrics from "Wait, The Whisper Song" have ever worked. But today might be the day. We also have a hairless cat and some very mysterious Illuminati symbolism. I like to stay busy.

So the other day I had a beautiful conversation about lucid dreaming with some friends. We shared amazing dream memories that we all had experienced and right the next day this sleeping beauty started showing up on a piece of paper.

This drawing looks a bit like one of those "how are you feeling?" hospital charts. It starts out okay ("smiling cat", "drunk pirate"), and descends into full Lovecraftian Horror. I was driving toward a local town known for its unpleasant yokels, which probably explains the progression. Today, for the record, I'm 75% Apathetic Lumberjack, 5% glassy-eyed cat, and 20% Vampire Waluigi.
On December 2017, after my frineds and I exhanged gifts, we thought "why don't we do it next year?? Valentine's Day!" So in January 2018, we got our picks and our theme was "Something Effort" since it's important in every relationship. Since then I started making this, every day I would add some details. I was lucky to know that the one I picked likes Game of Thrones so there. Made with air dry clay then painted with acrylic paint.
They gather around, grateful, sending prayers up just to thank.

I've started a new sketch book (one of many, lol), which I am dedicating to ink drawings only. No pencils, no watercolours, just pen and ink :) I drew this doodle today with a Uniball pen and a light ink wash for the space sky. No reference, totally made up. Mistakes and all! Before you is a touching tale of true friendship between a capybara and a mouse. The capybara is the world's largest rodent. If you google "capybara friends," you'll see that there are a lot of instances of other species just hanging out with them in the wild. For some reason, all animals are attracted to the capybara. I'll wait while you look this up.
Sometimes I just start throwing lines on top of lines. Today was such a day, fusing, intermingling, and vomiting lines up onto the page. (I originally titled this "Dreams in Digital" but then I was like "no one has heard Orgy's second album but you. Please abandon this late-1990s alt-rock persona. Live in the now.")
Every day in 2017 I drew in a Moleskine Japanese (Accordion Fold) Album (pocket size) with the goal of completing one continuous drawing all year. I filled up nearly six complete sketchbooks, completing a drawing that is 5.5 inches high and more than 600 inches wide. Now, what do I do with it?
