I always found Chicken & Salad to be somewhat of an oxymoron... the word Salad usually means delectable fruits & vegetables... Right? So whether it's beef, pork, chicken or spam... it feels like cheating. & don't think i am fooled by bacon bits either! So this of course made me ponder what possibly a Chicken Salad farm would look like. Or maybe they are produced via eggplant? Either way it's closer to an actual genuine 'salad' & brings more validity to this vegetarian staple. Good day!

I genuinely can't believe it's already March (I also can't believe it'll be a year since the pandemic really started). Yesterday also marked one year since I started journaling, which isn't an actual major thing, but still. How quickly time flies and how big of a difference a year can make. Whenever i hear the word 'graphic' on the news, my mind goes to art rather than the abrupt visual they feel needs a warning [Which i guess is a courtesy for some folks who just might not be able to handle such a site & prefer to look away.] Well, luckily, I'm not Pollyanna about this... As a creative, it is nearly impossible to hear that word 'graphic' & not flex my creative muscle & treat it w an alternative visual thot... 24/6! [I take Sundays off.] I was never fortunate enuf to attend college or to study graphic arts. But I actually think that this is a skill & craft of immense talent. To create aesthetic colors & shapes & beauty & what seems like using the most simplistic of techniques yet w the greatest of impact is simply mesmerizing to me. Why that color? Why that shape? & yet... it works!!!! So here is my attempt to simulate such a masterful profession but w a bit of humor.
This is a digital drawing I did in the spirit of Christmas. I did a lot of selecting, copying, pasting, and flipping so most things looked nice and parallel. XD The only thing I didn't do that with was her ears. Oh well. At least it was in season..

My first art of 2021, and the first in about 7 months after feeling blocked since last year. Reference was some random photo of a house on a country lane from when I used to go for long walks in Sussex. I decided to push myself into doing some form of artwork every day. This was the result from day three.

today i saw the first little flowers growing near the lake. this made me so happy. i remember, when i drew this some weeks ago, thinking about spring and how beautiful it is.

A 4x6" colour sketch of Amroth Beach, Pembrokeshire in preparation for a much larger piece. The light that day was gorgeous, but the level of detail in the distance really could do with a larger canvas to make the most of it.

I joined an app called sketchaday. They give you one prompt a day. Our prompt for today was new and decided to create my own twist to new lipstick. I had so much fun drawing and coloring this!
