One of my latest doodles.

I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to paint a design on a rather large gorilla! I am so excited to do this. It's taking an age but getting there slowly. When he's all done he will be going on show at Paignton Zoo.

A friend suggested this. I’m really glad he did.

I started this drawing yesterday, and I finished up the sketch today. (The second image is the reference.) I wanted to get some feedback on the sketch before I colored it in. I'm pretty happy with how it turned turned out. Anything I should tweak before continuing?

3D Drawing - Stairs

After the success of last year's birth month flower drawings and the products I made with them, I decided to continue drawing flowers - this time it's all the state flowers and state insects. I'm a little behind on the insects.

Geometrics Galore ~

This sketchbook spread features a stylized pattern of colorful poppy flowers. The garden of flowers includes leaves of green, yellow and peach. The flowers are yellow with blue stems. The drawing as a whole has a whimsical and playful feel with a bright color scheme, polka dots and organic squiggle shapes, and blobs of seemingly random colors. Progression 3 of 6. In this one, I focused on the hair some more, his ear, fine tuned the eye and add shading to his face.

Just some random doodling in my Moleskine. It never gets old.

Still playing with ballpoint pens. This time, I tried a “scribble” drawing, holding the pen way back on the shaft and making little circles and scribbles….then layering them over and over. It was actually very liberating and fun. I did this on a Canson sketch paper….which didn’t wear through, but did buckle a little towards the end.

Neil was the first author whose words I first fell in love with.

Forget the fact that she was naked, or that she was sat next to an invisible man and that there was a monster trying to grope her. The dragon-headed man was smoking in a no smoking area. How fucking dare he?!
