As we wrapped up our "Sacred Spaces" paintings, I asked our student teacher to design a one-day project—something playful, earthy, and engaging to ease the class into her care. She brought mud. Literally.
Using mud and simple stencils, students pressed images—flowers, insects, wings—onto the sidewalk behind our school. There's something timeless about making marks with the ground itself. It felt ancient and immediate at the same time.
These prints won’t last long, but maybe that’s the point. A fleeting image, a shared laugh, a new hand guiding the next phase of learning.
Art is about making marks. Not all of them need to be permanent.

Critically Endangered The White-headed Vulture has undergone catastrophic declines in population number, with an estimate median decline in 96% over three generations (45 years)

Vultures split from the other genera in this family 12.7 million years ago. This species is highly sensitive to land-use and is concentrated to protected areas. Individuals were marked with patagial (wing) tags in Fouta Djallon vulture sanctuary to monitor movements and for a toxicological assessment of the vulture population of the park. Additional studies to monitor the movements of individuals within and between protected areas in underway is South Africa. This "trend" I guess you could call it, came from the movie "I saw the TV glow". Which is a movie that's a metaphor for trans identities and other queer identities.

So I wanted to try something new in my digital art journey. I experimented with new techniques. I tried to use a brush type that gives a transparency effect.
I chose one picture from Loish's book as a reference.
And here it is - a colorful landscape.

Ok, this will be tough to explain but, here goes: Blind Specter the Ghost goes into a random human man's body and lies to his red-hair Girlfriend that this is how he looked when he was alive/in mortal form (fact: he was never a human) She ends up believing him! (why they're naked? eh, because I was lazy to draw their cloths ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) Once again, I drew this in MS Paint with Mouse.
I got to drop into an outdoor class with my beloved teacher from the studio. A space had finally opened up two weeks before everything in SF shut down again. Well, it was good to see her and my fellow students and be in that setting on a beautiful sunny day. I was also negotiating my next job salary and getting phone calls during class, so I wasn't entirely present. The class topic for the day was palm trees. This is in front of the De Young, another place I was so glad to have visited indoors on another afternoon before the latest lock down.
This time I designed a logo using a special style of Arabic calligraphy called "Al-Diwani". This style is distinguished by its flexibility and beauty. Besides its capability to represent and any shape that I want using any words; so I can illustrate and draw anything using this style.
