I live on Toronto's waterfront, and everyday there seems to be something new to sketch. I'm trying to keep busy with this whole COVID-19 epidemic. I really can't help but to keep sketching, keeps me sane from all the fear going around.

2015 - I wanted to try watercolor painting in a more realistic way, but this is as realistic as it can get. Sadly, I chose to ignore the nose part, in my fear of ruining everything. Although, I must say, I was happy and proud of the outcome of this attempt. ❤️

Peter took His Eye off Jesus and began to sink. Medium: Acrylic on canvas Size: 11”x 15” Date: 2019-2020 This illustration is one of nine, in a mural about the ministry of Christ. This image is block number 7. This painting illustrates Jesus rescuing peter, as he start to sink in to the sea, because he lost his faith when took his eyes off Jesus, and focused on the violence of the winds and waves of the storm. Matthew 14:22-33 New American Standard Bible (NASB) Jesus Walks on the Water 22 Immediately He [a]made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side, while He sent the crowds away. 23 After He had sent the crowds away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone. 24 But the boat was already [b]a long distance from the land, [c]battered by the waves; for the wind was [d]contrary. 25 And in the [e]fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea. 26 When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out [f]in fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.” 28 Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and *said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 When they got into the boat, the wind stopped. 33 And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “You are certainly God’s Son!” When I did my research, I Found very few biblical accurate illustrations of the event. Very few captured the darkness and valiance of a stormy sky taking place at 3:00 am in the morning (which is the forth watch of the night. Many illustrations I found, their skies were too bright and calm. I found that the seas in these illustration had the same lack of movement and violence, the sea would have in a storm that was so strong the disciples were not able to make any headway in their crossing the lake. I notice that all illustrations of Jesus walking on water, show the viewer His feet. In reality the waves would most likely block the viewer from seeing his feet on top of the water. The unavoidable black eye in most of these illustrations of Jesus walking on water, is the ridicules and unrealistic possess they have Jesus in, of Him rescuing Peter. You know the ones where He is making some kind of sign with one hand, as it is held up toward the sky, and one hand reaching down to peter. What was I trying to accomplish in my illustration? I want to be careful, to being accurate with costumes styles, and colors worn by the poor people of Galilean society. I wanted to be accurate in illustrating a storm on the sea of Galilee. I looked over numerous photos on line, of storms taking place on the Sea of Galilee. To understanding how the water and sky behave during a storm I studied the colors of sky, clouds, and water, during these conditions, in this location of the world? Showing movement in the air and the water. I used stylist brush strokes, to create movement in the sky and in the water. I am hoping to make people feel the storm’s violent energy. Showing power of the wind blowing against the bodies of Jesus and peter, through the movement of clothes, and hair. Showing the anxiety of Pete, with his body swallowed up to the waist, his face looking up to Jesus to rescue him from drowning. Showing that Jesus offers security to Peter, from being swept away by the wave of the sea. By his secure grasp of Peter’s back arms. He is able to lift Peter out of the water. The message I want my view to receive, is that everyone who comes into the world will experience trials and tribulation. We can overcome our fears and be filled with courage, to enable us to battle our ways through these storm in life. Take a hint from the fierce Wonder Woman and be empowered on Woman's Day. Remember that fear is only a paper tiger

On Tuesday evening some 1000 people gather in front of the German chancellery to demonstrate. To ‘Open the borders! Safe lives! Fight Fascism!’ were called for by ‘Seebrücke Berlin’ and others. We marched along Reichstag (seat of german parliament), offices of members of parliament, Russian embassy to Friedrichstr, where a final rally was hold (this is where the sketch emerged). Seebrücke appealed to the parliament to allow at least these refugees in most urgent need to come from the inadequate camps on the greece islands to their german member municipalities, that have space and are willing to host them. German parliament yesterday refused to do so, presumably due to their fear of further rise of right wing parties. This influence was another topic, that was adressed by the demonstration, that marched against any influence of right wing and fascist parties in Europe and for an international spirit of humanity.

Most fears are just illusions created by our brain. Our previous experiences is used to create a fake reality of what would happen if we venture into areas we are scared of

I fear myself.

My biggest fear. My biggest fear is not the dark alleys I walk at night, the demons in my nightmares, the rise in knife and gun crime or terror attacks. My fear is like the people of troy bringing something in and it turning out to be something else than what I thought it to be. Sometimes it takes punching a hole in reality and a gallon of tears to realise you were wrong and fooled.

This is chucky I am terrified of it but it was an challenge this is my first time here so I am learning the ropes so I have no clue what I am doing but this gave me major chills while making it

A spider came to mind...so tiny and fragile in comparison yet invokes so much fear. Then considered a daddy long leg.

This Illustration is a revisited self portrait. The breast on my back feed four pencils/tentacles and the color spread from the female body to the page and "travel" all around the surface. The meaning is to show the reciprocity between the artist and the manufact.

I drew these guys with a Pilot Custom 823 FA and Platinum Carbon Black ink. The FA nib has a good drawing width on watercolor paper - one of my favorites. It's a soft nib but I don't use the line variation, just some nice shock absorption with each downstroke. The Carbon Black ink is out-of-this-world good, though being pigmented I fear keeping it in too many pens.

Customarily, families give their homes a thorough cleaning in the days leading up to Lunar New Year’s Day. Windows are scrubbed, floors are swept, and furniture is dusted in preparation for the new year, sweeping away away the bad luck of the past year. In addition, dusting is avoided on New Year’s Day, for fear that good fortune will be swept away.

Inspired by the symbolism of the cherry blossom flower, which represents beauty and strength, as well as the expression, “Life, Death, and Renewal”, this piece completely embodies this expression, reflecting on the harmonious balance between human and nature. Each unique detail, from the soft elegance of the cherry blossoms, the chaotic nature of the setting, followed by the expression of complete calmness of her delicate features, helps portray the turmoils she once faced, and how she overcame her fears and saw her true beauty.

Fearful, in discomfort, rapid decaying manner, various creatures may go through such waves in life. To experience, to walk through and try to understand others, to help them. Humans are always in some sort of stress. The world is a very interesting place.

In with disease, a focus in depression, a fear in death, departure along with tundra moon follows. Unveil whisper to engage these thoughts down the darkness. A vessel alone, not kin to wish a farewell nor goodbye. He died alone.

Inability to look deep within motions of identity, to claim further regions, but to hide beneath a truth. Social interaction featured in the removal. Voyage loom near.

Featured removal in this valley of roaming fears, the truth in dreams haunt this region. Compose mind, down the holes of madness present themselves. Tears and insanity follow his pleasure.

Broken heart looking for answers for these sorrows and ravaging wounds. Fear, enclosed but in hope of a guiding reality further. Distance of a lad emerges.
