This painting/ drawing is started in the Abstract with forms created organically. I used Acrylics and applied them liberally as you might use in watercolor techniques. I love challenging myself to create in this form, as I do in finding the figures which may form themselves in the process. I then detail the figures in a drawing style to enhance and bring it forward. It’s part of a three piece series I made in this color story and can also be seen on my ArtFinder page, available for purchase. @adrianajgarces
Illustration style retro watercolour doodle, entirely from imagination. Hence the figures have no basis in reality"life drawing", they are just my own imaginative style. "Real people"look very different. This is my stylised interpretation. Thanks for looking.
I had a lot of fun drawing this but still haven't felt bothered enough to complete the right hand. Just decided that it is tucked behind the figures back because it was too hard
Except for the addition of the three hands, the preliminary scribble lines were not altered at all. These nine figures were found, slowly, not rendered It was a page of what seems senseless, crazy lines, Subconscious in the working? Yes, that's the story behind my art.
Rendition of Michelangelo pre-sculpture sketch work two men fighting 4 ft by 3 ft. Corinthian column added original 3 ft by 2 ft. Done on wall in home with 14 number 2 School pencils over a 2-week..
My drawings depict figures that are created from my imagination. My figures are distorted and usually out of proportion as I prefer not to be constrained by reality of what we see around us . My work typically is done using a simple black biro. I find the act of drawing a vehicle to express and explore ideas in figurative forms.
The picture is terrible. the colors are much brighter... Named for the person liked it most Marker, sharpie, watercolor markers. Simple way to get out of my mind, relax, zone out, I call it brain numbing style because to me it's simple (but it's not really) and just what I do no rhyme or reason. I Just start drawing lines (no subject) with black sharpie/perm marker and see what develops, often surprise myself. I go back and see faces, objects, figures... Closing lines up I see more and then as I start adding color more images develop, no theme to begin but rather it develops as I color and close it in . I tend to see faces a lot especially in graphite or charcoal and in just about anything...rocks, wood, paneling. At times I start with a scenery or subject but turns out completely different and the original never happened. I find out after I look up from being so focused (call it zoned out)
These figures found must cast some meanings from my subconscious. They simply came and as a whole composition! I uploaded a full description on youtube giving them individual names, mostly ghostly. This piece contains a spooky atmosphere stronger than the others and remains one of my favorites, probably because better works come effortless.
Tao Te Ching
“A great nation is like a great man:
When he makes a mistake, he realizes it.
Having realized it, he admits it.
Having admitted it, he corrects it.
He considers those who point out his faults
as his most benevolent teachers.
He thinks of his enemy
as the shadow that he himself casts.”

CIM Chapter 10
88 Children perceive terrifying ghosts and monsters and dragons, and they are
terrified. Yet if they ask someone they trust for the real meaning of what they
perceive and are willing to let their interpretations go in favor of reality, their fear
goes with them. When a child is helped to translate his “ghost” into a curtain, his
“monster” into a shadow, and his “dragon” into a dream, he is no longer afraid
and laughs happily at his own fear. You, my children, are afraid of your brothers
and of your Father and of yourselves. But you are merely deceived in them.
Chapter 12
35 It is through these strange and shadowy figures that the insane relate to their
insane world. For they see only those who remind them of these images, and it is
to them that they relate. Thus do they communicate with those who are not there,
and it is they who answer them, and no one hears their answer save him who
called upon them, and he alone believes they answered him. Projection makes
perception, and you cannot see beyond it. Again and again have men attacked each
other because they saw in them a shadow figure in their own private world. And
thus it is that you must attack yourself first, for what you attack is not in others.
Its only reality is in your own mind, and by attacking others, you are literally
attacking what is not there.
36 The delusional can be very destructive, for they do not recognize that
they have condemned themselves. They do not wish to die, yet they will not let
condemnation go. And so they separate into their private worlds, where everything
is disordered and where what is within appears to be without. Yet what is within
they do not see, for the reality of their brothers they cannot see.
41 Vision depends on light, and you cannot see in darkness. Yet in the darkness
in the private world of sleep, you see in dreams, although your eyes are closed.
And it is here that what you see you made. But let the darkness go, and all you
made you will no longer see, for sight of it depends upon denying vision. Yet from
denying vision, it does not follow that you cannot see. But this is what denial does,
for by it you accept insanity, believing you can make a private world and rule your
own perceptions. Yet for this, light must be excluded. Dreams disappear when light
has come and you can see.
Face to face, eye to eye, this pair of lovers is sharing their moment, despite any other figures which comes and goes. Now, all rests in the back of the mind, buried.
This was a transitional piece as I enlarged/zoomed out the 'mass' of the doodle towards the edge of the paper. This was one of the last pieces of abstracts before my figures surfaced from the compositions.
