Fed by a Miracle of Compassion

Fed by a Miracle of Compassion Medium: Acrylic on canvas Size: 11”x14” Year: 2019 Artist: Stephen J. Vattimo Matthew 14:13-21 New American Standard Bible (NASB) Five Thousand Fed 13 Now when Jesus heard about John, He withdrew from there in a boat to a secluded place by Himself; and when the [a]people heard of this, they followed Him on foot from the cities. 14 When He went [b]ashore, He saw a large crowd, and felt compassion for them and healed their sick. 15 When it was evening, the disciples came to Him and said, “This place is desolate and the hour is already [c]late; so send the crowds away, that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves.” 16 But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away; you give them something to eat!” 17 They *said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.” 18 And He said, “Bring them here to Me.” 19 Ordering the [d]people to [e]sit down on the grass, He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up toward heaven, He blessed the food, and breaking the loaves He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds, 20 and they all ate and were satisfied. They picked up what was left over of the broken pieces, twelve full baskets. 21 There were about five thousand men who ate, besides women and children. This illustration is part of a mural about the ministry of Jesus of Nazareth. The mural consists 9 images that depict the Miracles of Compassion Christ worked that are recorded in the Bible and He continues to perform in the world today. Understanding the symbolism in the painting. The basket of to fish and bread sits in the grass; Jesus had instructed His disciples to have the people sit down in the grass. Dead grass: the event took place in a desolate place. Historical and cultural illustration. Basket design: In the first century in the middle east people traveled on foot and when on a long journey they carried food with them. The common lunch pal during this time period was most likely a small wicker style basket with a removable lid, and a leather strap attached to it. So, a person can sling it across their shoulder for comfortable transportation. The basket would most likely be lined with a cloth wrap around the food to protect it from dust and bugs. The fish and bread: In John 6:1-15 which mentions the same event, tell us the 2 fish and five loaves of bread belong to boy, so most likely his meal was that of a poor person. The common fish that was eaten by the poor in this region and time period, were sardines. The five loaves of bread: Were most likely a type of flat bread which is commonly consumed by middle eastern people. The Bible verse that best communicates the message of this illustration is: Matthew 6:25-33 New American Standard Bible (NASB) The Cure for Anxiety 25 “For this reason I say to you, [n]do not be worried about your [o]life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the [p]air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27 And who of you by being worried can add a single [q]hour to his [r]life? 28 And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, 29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! 31 Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ 32 For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But [s]seek first [t]His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be [u]added to you. Baka Jankica, fantastične priče s nekoliko crteža, Grandma Jankica, fantastic stories with several drawings, outsider artwork

cardboard 100x70 cm. There are reasons I don't want to explain to you, and for which I will tell you this story. Suffice it to say that the kind of information that will read you is not for everyone's ears, I believe you will not use it for bad purposes. In case of misuse, you will be badly beaten. I belong to the genus Woody Puppets, quite numerous in the Magic Valley. I was born in Puppetcity, from my father a traditional medicine doctor (herbal and energy treatment) and my mother Major Readers of phenomena. I spent my childhood normal, shaping my body into the shape I wanted, like all dolls. Wandering aimlessly and observing the relation of thought - matter, it was my favorite pastime as a little doll. On one occasion I was helping my father collect herbs on the clearings around Puppetcity. My father (who didn't talk much) suddenly started talking about topics he didn't want to answer before and I remembered his words forever: "My little one, there are inexhaustible energies that just need to be used, and a small number of beings are used with them for the simple reason that they do not believe in their existence or they give up too soon on the apprenticeship of invisible forces. Try to keep your body healthy and in good shape, moving regularly, because only a healthy body has a strong spirit. We are currently in a phase where our spirit is attached to the body and the body depends a lot on how much the spirit of growth. The rule is also true that the spirit influences the body in which it resides much, much more powerfully than many beings are aware of this fact. I will teach you how to strengthen and purify your body and spirit in an easy way with the power of Thoughts and exercises available to those who believe. Before using this knowledge, you will have to go through a period of Observation, similar to that of a blacksmith for one year only observing the hot iron and spreading the fire to the desired temperature. The master then gives it to him tongs and hammer in the hands. Previously, the apprentice would not have used the tool, find out a lot more about Grandma Jankica at lutakzvonko.blogspot.com

Ten buttons for relaxation, a fantastic story with real elements, naive art

100x70cm. cardboard, mix materials The people in the button do not see anything attractive, the attention given to him is current and lasts until the buttoned some clothing item which wants to wear. With us in the World of Fantasy, fortunately, this is not the case, we give the buttons a deserved attention which they fully deserve. A man lacking a button, for example, on the shirt, we inhabitants of the World of Fantasy are avoided, because we believe it brings bad luck, such people can cast a spell on anyone. It is even more dangerous to meet a man without a button on the slit, or, God forbid, unbuttoned slit. It is certainly a dangerous man of wild impulses ready for violence against anyone in order to satisfy their needs. On the other hand, people who have a nice and tastefully selected button on their clothes are highly appreciated. Those more experienced among us will carefully look at each button on a person - the buttons should not be damaged and scratched. Of course, in the World of Fantasy, there are the Button - beings, the creatures that everyone wants in their vicinity. Those dear creatures are attracted to himself materials and crystals, who are constantly working on the relaxation of a person close to them. Even watching the picture where they are Button - beings (confirmed by scientific and empirical research!) relaxing the spirit and body, raising the level of health to the stairs more. It is for you, dear reader, to take advantage of this fact, here is your free relaxation! Those who doubt these words of Old Bone make a mistake - to yourself to the detriment!

My tribute to my good friend who died earlier this year. Another white pastel on black paper. Not my favourite media but I love the effect of it. I need to practice more as I can't get my head around working on negative lol, erasing to get shadows and filling in to get highlights etc. I used a chunky white stick and a white pastel pencil but detail still eludes me lol. It's a technique I need to refine. It's the second picture of a dead person I've put on, apart from humph, so I'm a cheery little soul aren't I lol? Thanks for looking

Progression 5 of 6. At this point his face is nearly done and I’ve begun to fill in the shirt. There is still more shading and fine tuning and details needed on to finish off his face, but at this point in a drawing I like to begin filling in the other details to keep some cohesion to the overall piece.

Progression 2 of 6. Spent some time here in the hair, beard, and eye. The transition in the hair from light to dark was done mainly by not adding in graphite in heavy amounts and using the pencil eraser to define the hair.
