first attempt

Hello this is my first attempt at drawing this oc belongs to me and bray

I fell in love with charcoal. Its so beautiful that so much can be expressed in black and white. The universe is so beautiful

this was a sweet gift I did for Christmas for my mom & dad - they love traveling and Telluride, CO, has become their second home! my mom loves Aspen trees and the mountains, found it only fitting they be included in this collaged painting I did for them. I used gouache paint for all landscape and watercolors for my parents. It was fun combining the two paint types and my first attempt using gouache paint - I loved it!

My first attempt to draw a scull.

My first attempt at a concertina birthday card. While simple to make, it can be a bit fiddly and getting the proportions and placement of objects right for each layer is important so that everything can be seen once the layers are overlapped. It reminds me of printing processes, where each layer is gradually added. It was quite an enjoyable process.

First attempt at engraving style pen drawing. Not bad for a first try, but significant room for improvement.

There I did it! This was my first attempt.

This is my first attempt at traditional egg tempera painting. The panel is a Masonite board from Michaels, but I need to use true gesso because the egg tempera will not adhere to acrylic gesso. Some of my favorite artists used egg tempera. Andrew Wyeth, Robert Vickrey, and Colin Fraser are all masters of this ancient and archival medium. I have been self studying this technique for months and I was very excited to start experiencing the medium. Egg tempera is like layering stained glass on top of stained glass. the painter can expect a luminous glow to take shape as the colors blend visually through the layers of paint - assisted by the chalk of the true gesso. Egg tempera has been described as the closest painting technique to drawing, hence my draw to this medium.

I've started a fantastic Domestika Course by Ruth Wilshaw: "Painting Atmospheric Landscapes with Gouache." It's my first attempt at gouache painting. I'm so excited to try this art medium. I've only painted with watercolors so far. Thank you, Ruth, for your course. I enjoy it so much!

first attempt at drawing the back of an character,it was easy since Lime Verde is circular.Major Lime Verde is an old but competent fruit who has successfully stopped drug and arms smuggling in most parts of the city,even crime which of course angers many kingpins.shortly after his 2nd term he gets in a freak accident caused by Paxton Pomegranate (a crook who has ties with a drug lord)for firing him.Paxton soon finds and contracts a replacement.a fitness trainer who happens to be a himbo along with his ditzy although smarter girlfriend.Verde soons finds himself helpless and amnesiac.

I've been working on this since mid September. This is my first attempt at using an engraver to help with the fur texture.

This is my first attempt at drawing something and cutting and repositioning it so it will make a repeating pattern.

Its been a while. Here is a new one that I have been working on for a few days. Its my first attempt at using graphite powder for the black background. I used a Lyra 9B Graphite Crayon and ground it down myself into powder. Worked really well. I also purchased a Strathmore Series 500 mixed media roll. The amount of high quality paper for the price - it can't be beat. I am excited with this drawing!

My first attempt at doing a portrait with a ballpoint pen. After having dedicated a lot of time to improving my digital art I took a break from it and turned to pen/pencil on paper and am quite happy with what I manage to create on my first attempt.

This is a bit of mixed media here. I used Acrylic paints and Arteza colored pencils. This was my first attempt on trying to be kind of realistic, I think it turned out pretty decent. This was my very first attempt at the grid. I restarted drawing about October or November of 2020. I was watching something on YouTube and a video came up about a street artist who uses the grid method when scaling up their artwork for the sides of buildings. It got me thinking ... and drawing ... and learning. Its so much fun to watch something slowly come to life from the paper. This was done in a sketchbook. After that I went and got a 9 x 12 inch Strathmore drawing pad - series 300. I have researched paper and I found a great deal on the Strathmore Series 500 roll. 40 inches (or something) by 8 yards! I can't wait to see how the projects improve when the quality of the paper increases. I am currently working on a gift for a friend. Its a drawing of their baby in a little piggy outfit. Unfortunately - I won't post it because its a picture of someone's baby ( I don't have permission - yet) ... but I am super happy with it so far!

In lieu of my last post, I asked about how to draw babies, this is my first attempt. :) Feedback is welcome!

My first attempt at cross-hatching with ink.

Nic Pro 2 mm graphite lead holders (4h - 4B) on Strathmore medium surface drawing paper (9"x12"). This was my first attempt at using a proportional divider.

This is a digital drawing of a species I came up with. This is also my first attempt of making a base. I'm very pleased with how it turned out and I plan to only get better. Please do not use or claim the species as your own. I worked hard and all things I create are cherished and made with lots of care. Because I have a base, I'm open to color ideas. Please comment if there are any colors you would like to see on my Mikisu. Thank you!

Random and quick angel design (not an OC) In my world building angels look either extraterrestrial,humanoid or similar to a cyborg (this one however doesn't look like either of those hence it's only a random design)a lot of them do wield weapons and wear armor (like a few high ranking demons would,mainly in war) They're not the typical blonde blue-eyed angels that look like people.majority of them hide their faces in armor (since they're too pure to reveal their own faces)and most of them don't have any wings or share any body parts people have (legs,feet,arms,fingers,noses,ears hair etc)it's best for the angels to be diverse in appearance like the demons (I also hate the idea of demons being red-skinned,having goat legs and having that pointy arrow tail) I don't know if I will ever draw my version of angels since clearly I prefer drawing demons,it may be really fun or really complex.
