Watercolor Flowers

Graphite pencil with watercolor and Micron pen.

Prismacolor colored pencil drawing of stylized begonias. This was fun, especially making the leaves have a satin texture. I printed this on card stock as a blank card to give to friends.

Drawn from a garden photograph. This took me much longer than expected. I kept stopping because I was getting discouraged. I still don't like the leaves, but there's not too much I can do about it at this point.

It's an odd feeling to reexperience the old anger and frustration I thought I had overcome, but, in all reality, I've been letting it creep back in for a while now. There was a moment of fear, it's still in the back of my mind, I'm afraid to slip back into the mental place I was a couple of years back. I'd like to say I've finally realized that it's ok to be afraid, and even a bit frustrated, but it's a matter of how I handle those emotions and my own reactions that make the difference.

This watercolor painting was done of one of the first flowers I saw upon arriving in London. It was a yellow climbing rose on the outside of our residence hall. I put together a bunch of flowers from some recent floral patterns to make a new mixed-up looking pattern.

Sea Turtle...and Peppa Pig. This drawing was a gift for a friend of mine who loves Peppa. When I gave it to her, she saw Peppa after looking for only about three seconds. I couldn't believe it.

This elderly octopus is insane with the feeling of love.
