When I moved into my first apartment, I knew I wanted to create my own wall art. So like any Potterhead artist, I binged Harry Potter movies and painted for many hours straight. This painting is part of a three piece set featuring my favorite plants painted on a soft gradient background. This 8”x10” acrylic painting is made on pre-stretched canvas.
I love the versatility of acrylic paint. You can change the consistency by adding water or acrylic mediums. These additions enable artists to create transparent glazes or thick impasto textures. The fast-drying nature of acrylics makes it easier to correct mistakes or make alterations during the painting process. A drawing that took me forever XD I knew how I wanted the lighting, it just took me a long time to figure out how to make it a certain way. Mainly the yellow gradient+glow around the character, not the lighting actually on her. This request was asked by the lovely nabi_nalgae on Instagram and she wanted me to draw this pretty lady, her character Nabi!
This is a colorful mixed media artwork using a black ballpoint pen complemented with a rainbow gradient painted with watercolor paints. I created this artwork on November 11, which is why it's titled "Angel Numbers."
It’s one of my OC’s (her name is Annie, short for Anabella). She has heterochromia, meaning she has 2 colored eyes, and I tried to match the butterflies with the color of the eye on the opposite side. The angle is supposed to be from above, with her laying down, and her hair spread out.

Lore outline: Originally born in the nature elemental lands she found herself enchanted by the stars above the canopy, and journeyed to the light territories in search of knowledge. But these dragons had little in the way of passion besides snobbery and a burning desire for truth. In her love of the night sky and shunning of the sun she did not fit here, and was bullied for it. One particularly bad episode altered the golden runes that her scales bore, covered her with patches of glowing gold - a permanent mark of the burning sun. But she did not only come to harm in the light flight, for it was here that she came across a clan of misfits just like her, formed by a guardian dragon who wanted to protect all those who were different. And then she, along with the clan, moved to the territory of the arcane flight - the home of curiosity, and those that loved the stars. They have been there ever since.
Art method: I started with graphite and ink on white A4 paper, scanned it into the computer and set to multiply then used photoshop to add colour and further shading + a simple gradient for a background on the layers beneath.
Had fun trying to capture this. Someday I'll figure out how to get the watercolor gradient I want. Meanwhile this was a fun way to practice and I freaking love these Daniel Smith watercolors. I definitely need to get some full tubes of certain colors. (Moonflower, Lunar Violet, Opera Pink, Cerulean Blue, all the Cobalts, i think all the Primateks - I haven't tried them all yet... *Sigh*)
