On an art journey

Going through a mental health journey, and created this fella. This is not the complete image, he will have bat wings and devil horns. I just hit a small wall with some of the layers. But I will have the picture complete when I can. I finally started drawing again after weeks of depression. So excited to see where this fella goes.

Her in-game profile is here https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/4025429 Lore outline: Originally born in the nature elemental lands she found herself enchanted by the stars above the canopy, and journeyed to the light territories in search of knowledge. But these dragons had little in the way of passion besides snobbery and a burning desire for truth. In her love of the night sky and shunning of the sun she did not fit here, and was bullied for it. One particularly bad episode altered the golden runes that her scales bore, covered her with patches of glowing gold - a permanent mark of the burning sun. But she did not only come to harm in the light flight, for it was here that she came across a clan of misfits just like her, formed by a guardian dragon who wanted to protect all those who were different. And then she, along with the clan, moved to the territory of the arcane flight - the home of curiosity, and those that loved the stars. They have been there ever since. Art method: I started with graphite and ink on white A4 paper, scanned it into the computer and set to multiply then used photoshop to add colour and further shading + a simple gradient for a background on the layers beneath.

I've started an experimental phase of my art journey. It's a challenging time for me. I try to draw and paint using different techniques, brushes, and color palettes. I'm on the way to exploring my artistic voice. I hope it'll be a great time to share my thought and emotions about this. The 1st thought I can say is: I need to be an explorer as often as possible. It allows me to look inside myself. It allows me to get to know myself better. It's very motivating.

Life is full of difficulties and hurdle. A mixed bag of happy and sad days. But when it comes to measuring them, we tend to weigh them towards the difficult ones more forgetting or avoiding the happy ones. This illustration is a composition to share how small or short life is to worry about tough times. Instead we can focus on being positive and happy and live every moment fully

It's crazy to think that 6 years have already flown by since I first moved onto the Xcel gymnastics team, let alone the fact that I've spent 15 years of my life as a gymnast. Tomorrow, August 6th, 2021, marks my last day as a gymnast on the team since I'm officially a college student. I've genuinely been dreading this day, but it's not the ending I expected...in an oddly good way. I know no one expected to spend the past year in a pandemic, and I definitely didn't think gym would shift so much in the following months, but here we are. Gymnastics has taught me more than I ever imagined it could, and my coaches (especially one of them) have become two of the people I'm closest with, words can't describe how grateful I am for everything. This 'ending' doesn't feel like an end, more so a closing to this chapter. Honestly, my love for the sport has only grown, and it feels like I'm finally figuring it all out. So, although my final practice as a team member is tomorrow, my journey is not over yet. "Goodbyes are the hardest part, and this ending has been something I’ve been dreading, although I know it’s time to let go. I’d like to say this isn’t a permanent goodbye to you or the sport, it’s more of a natural conclusion. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you’ve done for me and managed to teach me in this short amount of time, I couldn’t have asked for anyone, or anything, better. Thank you most of all for helping me achieve my dreams and for helping me get to a point in which I can say I’m proud of my journey. As an amateur artist, painting on a canvas and “ruining it” is a fear that grappled me ever since I could first paint. I didn’t believe in myself to accurately represent my emotions and over the years it has stopped me from painting at all. But today ,i break that, i have created a piece for me ,myself and I and on that note, this sixteen year old artist finally begins her journey on doodle addicts!
