i took a landscape course; our project was a mystic, foggy landscape. I went a bit different adding in the figure looking out to the island

I took a portrait collage course, and this is my first project. Fidelia Bridges painted incredible watercolors and landscapes, and the instructor assigned her as the subject.

Warm and cool winds mixing and blowing over sand ridges. A memory from living on the edge of a desert in Western Australia. Sometimes, walking the early morning the air is still cool in the shade of the trees, but the moment you step out into the sun, it is already hot.

Abstract line drawing while thinking about the different rock formations found in caves, cliffs, hills and those in my rock collection.

Wanted to work with some color, felt like drawing clouds. Why not both? Made with Pixilart on my phone, doodled with my finger. Edit: This came out much more pale on my phone than I thought...I'll have to upload from my computer next time. :/

Recently I saw beautiful Van Gogh exhibition. I really enjoyed movement of his brush and vivid colours. It was more about energy and feelings than realistic details. I am always gravitating towards realism and always want to spend more and more time perfecting paintings like they are never really finished so this time I decided to challenge myself not to do that.

Happy with how it came out, but painting the figure was hard ._. Gotta work on that.

I still haven't had the pleasure of seeing this fascinating phenomenon with my own eyes, but someday I will! I painted this scene because I'm one of those weirdos that loves snow and sees so much beauty in the quiet winter scene. Acrylic on 3.5" x 3.5" on custom tiny canvas.
