This one is important to me. I had been having a very long dry spell, not making any art, and then one day last Fall, while on a road trip, camping in Mesa Verde park, I drew this using some copic grey scale brush markers and a fine liner, and it was like my vision was returning. I got really into seeing, and imagining ... Anyway since then I've still been struggling to make more work, but have been making more creative things when I do get productive, and been organizing older work... It's also interesting that I titled this piece Phase Transition back in Nov '23, and subsequently had quite a sea change of life experiences, adventure, and new visions. Now if I could just sit down and draw more...
Hey everyone, sorry for such a long hiatus! The main reason is that I haven't been drawing so I had nothing to post. I also went through a name change, from BurningCinders to Umbra! For this piece, I played around with some new brushes and attempted to play with fog for the first time.
Original characters for a story which might never see the day of light. Amar and Aska belongs to me, Augustine and Sayeed belongs to my Hubby. We call them the Ass quartet or The triple As A-S. Augustine would be the main character, Amar her foil/lancer, and Aska and Sayeed would be supporting characters. I'm still practising communicating though character and setting design, so I will probably re-design them about 100 times more before they will ever be done.
I kept imagining her instead of drawing her down. Seraphina Belphoebe Harbinger has a loving big family and friends but they are not essential to the story I plan to use her in, Originally her design was similar to a Summer palette of Princess Peach but after multiple changes to my art style, this is her current look. Rose was originally the name I gave her and then I renamed her as Cossette but given the story I planned for her to be in she'll be nicknamed "Sera". I wanted for a look to be close to being an ideal homemaker like her mother. She's very friendly, innocent and naive. She's meant to be a character that doesn't belong in an environment she's forced to survive in
This coloured drawing I was working on for the past few days, wasn't very successful as I failed to properly bring the elements together. A few mistakes were made along the way, even if I managed to compensate for them quite a bit. But yea... There were a couple day's worth of journaling done on this one as I tried to make it a learning lesson.
One of the rare times when my son draws for long enough for me to get one in, too. This was while we were waiting for our lunch at an outdoor table when that was still allowed.
This is a drawing I did not too long ago, I think the pink and brown were blended nicely together in the piece. I use Copic markers, Microns, gel pens, and Ohuhu markers. I really enjoyed the theme of this character, (cherry blossoms) I think I was able to show the colors nicely together in the artwork.
This is the converted school bus that belonged to Route 66 super sketcher Bob Waldmire (RIP). It's here at our museum, so I sketched it one day. It's an amazing studio/home on wheels!!
It’s taken me until the ripe old age of 33 to do a Jungle Book tribute, in spite of it being my all-time favourite film along with The Mask and Baloo the Bear (along with Donald Duck) my favourite Disney character but alas… better late to the party than not show up at all, am I right?
This is a canvas made with a page from my Route 66 travel journal. As I was creating this, the Cubs won the World Series, so I had to add the hat...we'd waited a long time to see those hats on the lions.

This is the amazing work i dedicated to my guardian with his sigil. He has always been there for me and helped me, and often tells me dates that turn out to be accurate for something that ends up coming along or manifesting. I will never forget the first time he came to me in a dream. People who follow mainstream religion and its themes about Demons is false and are told nothing but lies. Hello guys. I just found this website and its seems really cool. I paint now and then and this is one of my paintings. I received a school assignment for my art class to do an artwork based on the society. Without doubting i chose my theme which is "body type". A very close friend of mine belongs to the not so "accepted" body types and it has been a really though time for her even though she doesn't really show her emotions. I painted a girl vs another girl with an atmosphere around them, based on their looks. U can see the difference on how they bring themselves to the society just by looking at their body position. So how the society influence their mental state.(I can only post 1 pic so the next post will be of the another girl) I got a B+ \(^O^)/

I started keeping a Route 66 Journal when I traveled from Chicago to Albuquerque. I keep adding to it all along and hope to go from Albuquerque to LA this fall.
Created digitaly. I initially created a painting entitled Safe Return after welcoming Canada geese along a nearby lake one Spring morning, four years ago.
The amaranthus are commonly used as symbols of eternity/immortality due to its ability to retain its color for a long time after dying/cut off". I thought that this phenomenon represents "hope" more than the more common meaning of "devotion/undying love". Having hope keeps us alive during difficult periods where we are cut off from the things that typically motivates us, whether it be financial resources, loved ones, etc., and I tried to convey this by juxtaposing the vibrant colours of the flowers (symbolizing hope and life) with the grayscale tone of the statue (symbolizing death and brokenness).
