Was in an art slump, so have started new project (aim to finish by September) where I am drawing a "song" from each of Circa Survive's mainline albums (six total) - the first is from Juturna, song "Holding Someone's Hair Back".
What inspired me with this piece was an enchanted forest. The purple trees and pinkish leaves plus the somewhat colorful grass (capturing it with my camera was a little tough but its a mix of forest and deep green with some blue) and the shrooms made me think of a kind of air of mysticism and fantasy. The Elk is one of my favorite animals and I feel has a regal presence almost in it. I thought about adding more vegetation but I was afraid of adding too much. What do you think? ^^
Albarracín, Spain. My first time trying an urban sketching. Although it's only from a reference photo, it's a good way to practice this art technique. Line art and watercolour wash on a watercolour sketchbook. I used a Sakura Micron Pigma 5.
Trying some pastels after the drawing prompt. I like them. They are portable and you can create some fun effects. Of course, everything still looks like a seascape to me.
Something a little different. Painterly little watercolours from today. Felt like exploring colour mixing – took a sketchbook to the one of the quiet botanical parks.

Well...depends on how far we can bend that. Inspired by the hurricane that passed through this evening. The wind bent the largest trees to the ground. I'm happy to still have my roof.
Started in 2017, finished in 2018. Have you ever been with someone who made you feel like the only way out of the situation was to kill yourself? I was.
Not the most accurate depiction, as there were still trees, nature and green... however, the Old World was becoming more and more technologically advanced as time pushed onward . We hear tales that they called this planet Earth. It is Illoniri now. And I will not let her fall the same way as that Old World.

Mighty satellites crashed to Earth. Oceans swallowed up the lands. The World became new . Planet Earth became Illoniri . The people who were not crushed, tried their best to survive, and they did . But what was that like? Living in a world where everything has been taken from you ? Everything but your own life ? No communication, except with the people right next to you. Your own friends and family mutating and changing before your very eyes. Imagine ... gaining magical powers, riding strange and fantastic beasts, forging your own destiny from the ruins of the old world. Exploring the world you thought you knew. A beautiful and pure and young world, born of the ashes of the old one . What will we do to protect this new Earth? What lengths will we go to ? How can we keep our Mother Illoniri safe from evil ? I will fight . We all must fight. We cannot chance our world to be destroyed a second time. But maybe... maybe we don't have to fight? Maybe the reason Earth died and became Illoniri is because all we ever do is fight ? Is the answer so simple? Have humility and understanding, and we may all live? Keeping peace is easier said than done . Maybe we all just need to be kind and our Illoniri will be saved? Only time will tell... Until there is peace, we venture onward. Here's a drawing I did this evening while sitting in my backyard. I suppose it's a reflection of my mental state of this past week, and the concerns I have for the weeks to come. 10 cm x 16 cm.
My first attempt at an abstract painting. It was the first time I tried using palette knives also. I didn't really have an idea in mind for this, I just kinda went with it. Came out pretty cool looking, almost like an abstract nebula. I used iridescent and interference Golden acrylic paints
