#14 Inktober 2023 Prompt number 26 "Remove" - I drew this picture during the #inktober event for an individual's artspace on magma.com (the word prompt to draw was "remove" for day 26). I came up with the idea to draw an RPG warrior battling a giant mosquito during his adventure. He is using OFF brand mosquito repellent spray to remove the enemy from this path (but he took damage and later is removing a Band-Aid from his arm). Drawn directly on magma.com live using an iPad pro (no pressure sensitivity and no Ai).

My favourite Lappish activity - moving with these traditional skis through the snow. Sometimes you might be crashing into trees or into each other and sometimes you might loose a binding and sink into the deep snow, but it’s always fun and exciting.

Trying to make sharp shadows without having everything blend toghether. My goal is to convey the warm, pinkish sunlight on the first day of spring, and light is not something i have given enough care to earlier. Removing colors from a photography is an effective way to get an idea of how sharp shadows actually are!

Lino cut prints. Practice copies. I ended up removing the leaves and making them on a separate piece of lino.

Moving blindly into 2022…. Will Covid and the kaos it has caused follow us ?

Medium : Pen and Ink on Bristol Board Size : 11" x 15" Year completed : 1987 This rendering is part of a collection of illustrations entitled " The Army Years." This rendering remind me of a ride I took on A Army National Guard helicopter,while I was serving in the Air Force- Civil Air Patrol. We were helping them to figure out the safest, and fastest, flight paths between hospitals, for when a patient needs to be air lifted from one hospital to another. I got to rider in one of the sides compartments of the craft, with the side door open ( of course I was strapped in to my seat ) the craft at one point flew with my side parole to the grown, as it made a couple of sharp turn, real fun ride. I served in the Civil Air Patrol for 4 year, one of the benefits, was a lot of flying time. I Severed in the United States Army fore 9 years, 4 years National Guard, and 4 years Regular Army. While in the military , I was a anti tank toe missile crewman, Combat Engineer , and a Field Medic. I served during The Panama War, Desert Shield/ Desert Storm, Police action in Somalia. This picture is entitled " Support Is on The Way." because any field soldier know that helicopter are the main transport vehicle for delivering, supplies, mail, equipment, moving troops back and forth, from the rear to the battlefield. Face homework. This was following a couple of super uncomfortable hours trying to draw people moving in videos, which was such a struggle for me (and my deepest art desire right now!).

Okay, I understand that comparing any real-life animatronic bands to FNaF is practically a sin, but I made this doodle subconsciously and I'm in love with it. Introducing Rock-afire Freddy. FNaF animatronics have many differences to real life animatronics, like how FNaF animatronics are made of segments, while real animatronics consist of one big fur piece, much more flexible. And that many of the animatronics from FNaF are completely able to walk around --- but in real life, the animatronics only have moving parts that are essential to their performance. This sort of also leads to another difference; FNaF animatronics from a specific generation all have the same endo, while real endoskeletons for animatronics have their own endoskeleton --- which have several differences from FNaF endos, like having upper jaws (which real endos don't), having teeth (real endos just have a plate which can move the mask jaw), being very bare and with few wires (real endos are very complex, and unlike FNaF where the animtronics are probably powered by electricity, real animatronics usually run on pneumatics). Anyways, enough of me rambling.

I feel like I haven't made any actual art in a while, let alone actually said anything about anything. It's been a long week, in both good and bad ways. First off, I was accepted into college, and then (for lack of better words) I accepted my acceptance to that school (I'm officially a Blue Demon!). Gymnastics is shut down, which I feared would happen, due to the rising cases in IL. It'll be closed at least until after the holidays, which scares me, but it is what it is (I wish people would just follow guidelines and wear masks)... I've been frustrated lately, mostly artistically. I go through times where I'm not satisfied with anything, nothing is good enough but all I want to do is create. There are a few larger projects I've been working on in the background, two for school and one personal. The personal one I haven't had much time to work on, but I'm hoping I will over the next few days (since I'm on break.) So yep. Lots of moving parts right now. Anyway, I hope everyone has a safe Thanksgiving!

The gang’s moving out!!

You maybe fighting your battles alone but the most important is you keep moving forward to conquer every part of it.

Shadows follow but I will move on! I have PTSD, so I am tormented by my past. Anxious for what's behind me. But I won't let that stop me! I may have "Lead in my shoes" (Dutch "Lood in mijn schoenen"), sometimes feel empty while on other times I am red from anger, nothing will stop me moving on. There will be temporary throwbacks, progress is not linear, but I will get there. I won't drown in self-pity this time.

Unfortunately, I broke up and separated with my girlfriend prior to Christmas. If there is an upside, it is that moving by myself has led me going through old work I’d packed up in various boxes - not opened for years. This is just an abstract biro doodle (+ markers for colour) I doodled, while working in a stupid telephone interview job in my early 20s.
