Hi! I just now created this page because I have a problem!! I love the idea of drawing (digital, graphite, markers, microns you name it), BUT I never actually get anything finished. It's a curse that has haunted me my entire life. Any good advice on how to stay consistent and follow through with your drawings? This one I've been doodling with Sketchable, using the photo to the left as reference just to eyeball off. I worked on it for a few days and was super inspired and now a year has passed from that (!!!) and It's still in this stage of almost done but I'm struggling with getting back into it..

A little while back I started doing little triptych cartoons, something I could have fun with and zip off pretty quickly. Then I expanded them to four panels when it felt necessary. Some people think too deeply about my little toons and are confused about what's happening. I just tell them to look at it more simply, and not to overthink it. Like this one.

In “I Love Lamp,” Ty Patmore blends nostalgia, humor, and subtle unease into a surreal domestic scene where time, space, and memory feel slightly off-center. A lava lamp—softly glowing with drifting shapes—sits on a worn wooden table, acting as the sole beacon of warmth inside a room that is quietly falling apart. The wallpaper peels back to reveal fractured brick beneath, as if the structure itself is shedding its old skin. A melting wall clock drips down the surface like time losing its grip, while a framed picture of a UFO drifting over pine trees hints that even the outside world may not be quite right. Every object bends reality just enough to make the viewer question whether this room is comforting… or unsettling.

My mind is on Puna so much lately. I love Hawaii...was born there and rediscovered it as an adult. I stay in Puna area when I go, in little houses I rent, or once, housesitting for a friend. This drawing was made one day when Mom and Dad and I went to Pohoiki to sketch. This little cottage and park is in the path of the flow and may already be gone. You can no longer drive there as the roads have been cut off by the lava flow. My heart goes out to all Hawaii residents dealing with this massive lava flow, and the VOG that goes with it. There might be a few weird reflections in this as I had to take a pic of it on my screen to get a file large enough....I gave the original to a friend who lives near the park.

It's October and I am really getting into the Halloween spirit. And to start off the month is one of my witches. I have drawn quite a few witches over the years, and she is one of my favorite ones to draw.

The materials that Meir uses in her works are not of the refined and so she is called an “arte povere” artist. Some of her work focuses on women, and they incorporate criticism and cultural protest. Meir has strong opinions about recycling and environmental protection that is represented in her works by use of materials and shapes. In her work she reacts to contemporary art that communicates with the eco system, waste, and she also searches for different worlds. Her works are made up of layers upon colorful layers that when we look at them it becomes clear that the mound of waste she chose is not coincidental. It actually becomes a colorful kaleidoscope of utopia. Jaffa Meir is a multifaceted, autodidact artist working in painting, sculpture, photography, product design, carpets and furniture, painting on textile, and computer graphics. The structural composition of some of the works is influenced also by her many years of working in the architects’ office. Meir also worked in the developing of ideas within the field of ecosystems and recycling for factories such as Coca Cola, and during this process came up with ideas for designing parks and public game spaces using industrial waste products.

I love the song Blackbird by Paul McCartney. But, blackbirds are very territorial when they have young ones in the nest. There is a sunny tree-lined path I like to walk in the summer. I have seen a fox running out of those woods, a doe lying in the sun-drenched grass, and an irate couple of blackbirds diving at my head while I was peacefully walking by their nest of young ones. I had to start carrying a stick to ward them off. Blackbird Fly! Just stay away from me!

The work was launched on the 5th anniversary of World Reading Day to help people better understand reading.   My artwork is based on the 147-page book "The Sorrow of Books" in simple, harmonious but profound colors. In the picture are the entertainment devices that help relax the everyday human beings that I was inspired by reading. The picture is of the current situation when people are at home trying to prevent COVID 19. We have spent most of our time online, using electronic devices. We have forgotten the presence of books and have made books buried by more advanced things. We took the Tuesday after Memorial Day off and rode bikes into GG Park. We found a mostly empty patch of green to picnic and play across from the Conservatory of Flowers. Our social distancing signs are blue with four white arrows pushing four people apart. Every time I look at them, I think, what if people think the length of those arrows is actually 6 feet? What do yours look like?
